WHERE ARE THE TEARGAS AND WATER CANNON ?

Hantu Laut

This is most upsetting and a blatant display of double standards. Does UMNO hold the franchise and monopoly to demonstrate ? What message are you sending to the people, Pak Lah !. Where are the tear gas, water cannon and your armoured FRU ?

As prime minister it is your duty to protect each and every citizens of this country irrespective of race, colour and creed. The action of allowing UMNO members to demonstrate freely is going to drive the people further away from your government. You should apply the same rules of law that you imposed on BERSIH and HINDRAF.

"All you need is a group of hotheads and extremists to shout racial slogans, and you will have riots again,"
Collin Abraham on the current situation in Malaysia, from the Associated Press.

This is exactly what UMNO wants. Worked before, probably will work now.

Didnt Pak Lah and Najib say "demonstrasi jalanan" is not part of our culture?

So what was the gathering all about? Pesta Boria ke?

Supa,

The PM is totally irresponsible to allow the demo by UMNO members. It reflects on his weakness, inconsistency and double standards. When he sent his police force against BERSIH and HINDRAF the excuse was demo is not part of our culture and it may lead to racial clashes.

What type of culture is he showing now ?

Hantu Lautan,
I think we have already gone past the stage of pulang paku buah keras.

I view this kind of protest, like at komtar,as dangerous in these times.

What I wish to hear dearly is a message from Umno top leadership to tell their supporters to calm down and do not act outside the process of law.

As for the rest of us, let us not be provoked. Keep a cool head and pray to the Almighty to protect our beloved country from any tragedy.

Kak Ton,

It's appalling.A prime minister can say "Do as I say, not as I do".

This is the kind of thing that makes people angry and fed up with his style of leadership.

anonymous,

I am against any type of street demo.

The protest in Penang was more dangerous than that of BERSIH and HINDRAF because there are frayed egos and injured pride after every election which can lead to an ugly situation if there were provocation.

Like you, I am waiting for top UMNO leaders to issue warnings to their members of police action if they go on the street.

HL,

He is incapable of doing anything!
Either that or he is encouraging it!
Yes, everyone can see what double standards they have. So what? Who's going to do anything about it? The Police...ya right! The PM? Will someone please wake him?!
He better get up soon or his Deputy will be taking over before he knows what happened!

SM,
My advice to Pak Lah, if he wanted to be respected by the people, is to get the police to deal with any UMNO demo according to the law, like what he did to BERSIH and HINDRAF.

If they defy the police, they should be arrested.
