Anwar's Cheap Offering To The Froggies

Hantu Laut

Anwar Ibrahim is all out to lure lawmakers from Sabah and Sarawak with cheap offerings of sentiment and psychology.

Who would have thought he can come up with such an idea of making 16th Sept a holiday in Pakatan-held states to show Sabahans and Sarawakians that he truly cares about the two states, which have in the past asked the Federal government to make Sept 16 as Merdeka day and a national holiday.Sabah used Sept 16 as the birthday of the Yang Di Pertuan Negeri to make it a public holiday.

The Merdeka day on 31st August is fallacious.Sabah,Sarawak,Singapore and the then
Federation of Malaya got together and formed a new nation called Malaysia on 16th Sept 1963.Singapore was kicked out in 1965 because of Lee Kuan Yew 's insistence of Malaysian Malaysia, a demand the Malays could not accept.

In all probability he may have problem getting those MPs from MCA,Gerakan and UMNO in Peninsula to join him and are putting all his bets on Sabah and Sarawak, an established and well-known 'katak' states.

His procurer Jefferey Kitingan ( the king of frogs)

has promised him 13 kataks from the 'land below the wind' where the paddy fields are awash with these tailless leaping amphibians. In the deep jungle they have many other species that perched on lower branches of trees and ready to leapfrog at the slightest disturbance.

The real danger to Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi are not the frogs in the paddy fields or those on the trees, they are in Parliament, where only honourable men should sit---the 'yang berhormat'.

Anwar Ibrahim is a specialist in demolition of government, an art he acquired during his heyday in UMNO.The making of UMNO government in Sabah was partly his handiwork.

In 1994 he and his conspirators in PBS demolished democratically elected PBS government and established UMNO in Sabah in coalition with the conspirators' new parties and formed BN in Sabah with a new formula, the rotation of the chief minister among the major races, a perfect formula of divide and rule mooted by the then Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad.

As in 1994, the first renegade was the equally charismatic and charming Yong Tat Lee, who, through his 2 MPs would be joining Anwar to remove the Prime Minister through a vote of no confidence.

Will Anwar succeed in getting the frogs to jump over for him to take over the government and wreck vengeance on those who did him harm before ?

Let's wait for D-Day - 16th Sept.

As much as I want to see 'change' in the government, I'm wondering how DSAI can pull it off without causing UMNO to initiate another May 13 Pt. II in the process. I believe in the analysis that for better or worse, the 'kataks' need to be divided equally between bumis and the non-bumis. Or else, UMNO, a sizeable presence in the parliament, will go to town with Anwar 'selling' the Malays out. So he needs Malay or bumi kataks, preferably, in larger numbers over Chinese to make his rule legitimate.

Personally I still have trouble with kataks because quite a number of people vote for the party not for the katak. And going thru' another GE in so short a time will probably bankrupt the country. Maybe kataks are a necessary evil...

Relax, September 16 will just be a normal working day....

The buses will still be late and overcrowded, petrol will still be expensive, the economy will still be shitty, UMNO will still be stealing your money.

mat salo,
It's between the devil and the deep blue sea.If too many UMNO MPs moved to Pakatan than it's UMNO all over again,it defeats the purpose. If Pakatan is overwhelmed with non-Malay MPs than it might not last.PAS is a very possible candidate to leave the coalition if they see Malay and Muslim interests are not protected.

Than there will be the problems of who should get what, there will be intense jockeying for positions.

For me I really look forward to a clean, efficient and a government that is accountable.I have no preference for colour, race or creed as long as there is fairness and equality among the races.

I hope one day, maybe not in my lifetime, it will come.

I live in Singapore for over 10 years and was amazed and captivated by how the government under LKY can transform a tiny gangster-infested city state into one of the most successful nations in the world.

We have all the ingredients to be even better but we screw it up under 50 years of blind faith in leaders that are more pre-occupied in amassing wealth for themselves rather than for the nation.

I am not a great fan of Anwar and I don't believe in choosing a leader based on sympathy, but I am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. That he would also stick to his multi-racial agenda when he takes the government.

Unless he can change the Malay mindset,it would be very difficult for him to stay in power for long without a strong Malay grassroots support.

HL,

Hey everyone has forgotten that Aug 31st was supposed to be the day the BN takes over the Perak State Govt again?!
Did not happen right?
So, Sept 16th will probably go by without event. Yes, Kittk Kat, UMNO will still be in power, cheating us, causing a further divide between the Malays & Non-Malays, cheating the Rakyat, playing money politics...etc, etc.
Hey, Parliment will not even be in session on the 16th of Sept. However...you never know...DSAI could very well be the next PM!
Who would have thought that he could have survived all that UMNO has thrown at him all these years.
Say what you may about him, DSAI has shown persistence, brains, guts courage, yes, cunning too...all the traits that are usually associated with the Chinese not Malays! Maybe we are all not that different after all!

Better this way then 12 dams and more inflated toll roads & IPPs and millions of $ in bribes to get MPs to do the right thing.

It's time to ditch the old ways.

HL,

By the way, it seems Credit Suisse (did I get the spelling right?) has told their Investors not to invest in Malaysia now (it seems we are as politically unstable as Thailand!).
The faster we get rid of the Bn the better...
Or are we going to blame DSAI for our instability also?!
Mr. Sleepy & his Deputy Rosmah (!)is so intent on saving their political careers, that the country is going to the "dogs" & they are still playing games!
