Let It Be Water Under The Bridge

Hantu Laut.

The man have said his piece.

I think it is time to let the Ahmad Ismail's haughty episode be water under the bridge. The politicians should move on and start looking at the bigger picture. The media should grow up and stop sensationalising on the issue.

Harping on it incessantly and insisting that UMNO takes action against him for expressing his own opinion make us looked even worse than him.

The Deputy Prime Minister has apologised (which he needs not to) on behalf of his party. The Prime Minister has clearly said it is not the party stand.

The man himself has said it was misreported by an overzealous reporter.

Enough have been said.We should give the man the benefit of the doubt and be damned with it.

Dear HL,

Agreed with you there. Just let it rest.

HL,

Yes, but you can bet that if it was an opposition MP who said it, well...he would be charged by now!
Yup, blame the Media for this Racist's remarks. Make sure that the Media only reports "nice" UMNO statements & if the UMNOputras say anything Seditious...well...don't report it! Just sweep it under the rug as we've always done.
By the way, while we are on the Media, Bloggers should also "tow" the offical line too...!
Or better still, round up the Chinese & Indians & send them packing to China & India!

Then why are you not campaigning for the release of Hindraf detainees from ISA detention, as:

1. They say it is all based on historical facts.

2. They have been misquoted by the MSM, especially the Govt controlled ones.

3. They are not a political party.

4. They only protested after they got no response from hundreds of letters of appeal they had sent to the King, PM, Ministers and MP's.

sm,
We should learn how to stop flogging a dead horse, more so with people who refused to change. The best is to ignore it and carry on with our lives.

To be fair, I don't think the government would arrest anybody for one-off statement.

They would and they should if someone consistently and persistently pursue a divisive racist or religious agenda.I have no sympathy for such bigotry.

Freedom of speech has it limits, not only here, everywhere. The trouble with some Malaysians they abuse this freedom to convey vicious personal attacks on politicians and anyone whom they sees as their enemies.

correction...whom they see as their enemies.

donplaypuks,

I have not and would not have sympathy for Hindraf.Spewing lies to get attention to your cause is not on, as far as I am concern.

Can't agree with you on this one. It is this sort of public backlash that keeps the authority in check. If he just said something hurtful which he meant, let somebody apologise for him and pretend nothing happen and he is let off, what do you think this society is?
Give you a hint; it starts with a 'p' and it is in plural.

HL,

It's not so much as "flogging a dead horse" Bro.
Whta we have here is an outright show of "rebellion" by Ahmad & his supporters. Wht I say this? Simple, he knows that Pak Lah is in a "weak" position now. Pak Lah need to make no more enemies in UMNO. Even if he knows that Ahmad is wrong, he can't do "jack S#!T" about it, so he makes up excuses & even "blames" the media. Come on, we know that the MSM is 100% controlled by the BN alreday. Everytime a BN Leader puts his foot in his mouth, he/she says "I was misquoted by the Media"!

Freedom of Speech, anyone ?

Yes, I have to accept Ahmad Ismail's freedom of speech, too.

Though it just confirms my low opinion of him and the party he represents.
