Christmas Eve With A New Twist

Hantu Laut

A Christmas eve with a new twist.

Christmas is supposed to be a day of joy,of gift-giving and in celebration of the birth of Jesus.

However, the people of Pakatan's state of Penang seemed to be confused between New Year's Eve and the eve of Christmas. The Star reported here the usually rowdy Christmas eve celebration in Penang turned ugly with revellers bashing two enforcement officers.A night of merry making that gone affary.

A new brand of freedom in Pakatan's land?

Pakatan call for another Royal commission here.

Anwar should write a book 'Pakatan For Dummies' so Malaysians could understand him and his dumb-ass coalition better.

Try Googling 'answer to life, the universe and everything' and see what answer you get.

Am from Penang - the rowdy celebrations in Gurney Drive during Xmas and New year's Eve used to happen even when I was in school (20 years ago).
Nothing new!
Nothing to do with the Pakatan Govt- as all Penangites know.
I am suprised the Police knowing this did not take any pre-emptive action.
They used to close Gurney Drive to vehicles on these two days.
I wonder why they did not it this time.

There will always be the rowdy group in a tightly congested road during the festivities Bro,but away from the maddening crowd in Penang Gurney Drive....Just to end the year in a positive note, I thought you might want to take your family and see the filem Muallaf which finally got the censor's approval for screening in Malaysia.

Good story by the late Yasmin Ahmad. There is still plenty of hope and plenty of good things yet in our Malaysia Bro.

HL,

Just when I thougt you were moving back towards being an honourable "writer", you go & write something like this ala worthless MSM!
Even I (a non-Penangite) know that Penangites have been doing this for ages...as Anonymous (1:21PM) said...this type of celebration was common under the spineless (I would like to add "testicularlly challenged" to that) KTK.
I guess anything to disparage DSAI (& you said you don't hate him?!)
Geeezee...I'm truly disappointed...

SM,

I don't know about you guys in Penang. We,Sabahans only have a bash at New Year Eve and we don't bash the cops. All parties are held indoors or the beach.

We don't have Christmas Eve bash. This is something new to me.Christmas Eve usually a subdued affairs with family and friends.

Can't resist this..Gee, SM does being an honourable writer means to bash BN and write nice things about the Pakatan leaders most of whom are hypocrites anyway? Where is the freedom of expression and freedom for free speech yang dilaung-laungkan itu.

good for you, hantu. enjoy your New Year with your family.

but dont bash PR for the sake of bashing it. you lose a lot of credibility. again, have a great NEW YEAR. we may be on the different political divide, but dont we lose our credibility.

Cheers to you and your family.

Eddy,

No, being an honourable writer does not mean bashing BN. Being an honourable writer means being "fair & professional". This crap was going on for years (under Gerakan & now it's still going on still under the PR) but the only difference is that it was not publisied by the MSM under the Gerakan. HL s using it as an excuse to bash DSAI & the PR. Don't blame the PR or the PR supporters for unruly behaviour shown by idiots who don't know how to celebtare.

HL,

I'm not a Penangite (please read my earlier comments again). Yes, although I celebrate Christmas, it's a time for me to spend time with Family & Family friends. I don't subscribe to violence or bositerous behaviour no matter what (& I'm one of these stupid PR supporters?). Come on HL, you know what I'm talking about...don't play dumb, you are more intelligent than that.

HL,

Sorry to go on about this but as Anonymous 11:59PM says "don't lose your credibility" (just to take a cheap shot at DSAI, the PR & its supporters).

SM,

The reason I poke fun at Anwar and Pakatan is because they are the one who started this street mob mentality.Freedom to demonstrate, freedom of speech and freedom to denigrate the government. It's fine if they are doing it but others can't.

Just look at Lim Kit Siang and Anwar's blog.Do you honestly think only they have the privilege to criticise and condemn others?

Only you failed to see the double standards of Anwar Ibrahim.

HL,

DSAI & LKS are politicians...as Najib & the rest of the BN. TO me politicians are all the same. Except that they are fighting for different things.
You on the other hand are not a politician.
I too support freedom of speech BUT I don't support street violence (there is a difference).
I have come to respect you as someone who can be astute, honourable & credible, even though we have differing opinions (if not I won't waste my time reading your articles & commenting). By all means insult the PR & their supporters (then we can debate with intelligence) BUT choose wisely (don't bring your self down to the level of politicians).
