I thought we already have the most modern and beautiful Petronas Twin Towers. This 100 storey Warisan Merdeka Tower is one too many.

You just can't defend a bad idea.

PNB already has Menara PNB in Jalan Tun Razak in KL. Are they running out of space ? Or will they move to this 100 storey building ?

Is this a scheme to get some money back after they (PNB) were arm twisted to take the property off Danaharta who had previously taken it over from some local bank who had seized it from Halim Saad for not paying his debts ?

Have to agree with Eddy - you can't defend a bad idea.

Why not just let it be a park for the community ? Or make it into playing fields since there is a dearth of sporting facilities for our youth ?

Brothers,

You guys don't get the point! The Twin Towers is Mahatir's baby bah!
The Warisan Merdeka Tower (I like that name!) is Najib's baby (& a great Phallic Symbol for Najib's administration too!).
Now Najib says that it's not his idea & that PNB is paying for it! My question is...if that were so, then it should never have been brought up in the Budget right? Why talk about a project that is being built by PNB & the Government is not funding? Ok, us Rakyat are stupid so we will believe whatever we are told anyway!

Bro SM got a point there actually, because the "Tower" is not going to be built from Government revenue, therefore it should not have been announced during the recent Budget presentation.

About the phallic symbolism, hmmm, I've not looked at it from that angle.Interesting angle though.

Ah! Najib ni kurang berimaginasi! I support the building of a 100-storey erection on Mt Kinabalu. If Najib does this, he will not only out-Mahathir Mahathir, but he will long be remembered as one of the craziest Prime Ministers who ever lived in the history of the world! The major side benefit of course, is that Sabah, and not the forever lost states of Selangor and Penang (to the BN, that is) is now the most important state in Malaysia. Sabah will of course be the last bastion of the BN after they have lost even Johor (yeah, there are signs that they will lose even this). Sabah boleh! Malaysia boleh! Semua boleh!

bro Eddy,

After being a staunch BN supporter & after watching them all these years, I can think like them!
