Anwar Ibrahim is not only popular at home but is also popular outside Malaysia especially with Western leaders and world corporate figures. After getting show of support from the American with subtle warning given by Secretary Of State Condoleeza Rice to the Malaysian government not to conspire against him again, Anwar friends in the West are asking for the charges against him to be dropped. It seems a bit odd because he has not been charged yet.

Am afraid western influence will be counter productive as we have seen BN are quite happy to ignore its own rakyat. But when westerners start making remarks, Bn will become even more dogged & stick to its guns.
What we need is fer M'siams to take things into their own hands & say enough is enough . . .
Anfield, I agree...however, even though Malaysians have been saying exactly that & we see what happened in the last GE, the BN (read: UMNO) Government is still in power & therefore...they will do whatever they want, however they want & whenever they want...who's going to stop them?! God help us Malaysians!
