UMNO Is Very Much Alive, Well And Kicking

Hantu Laut

Somebody broached the idea of turning BN into a single party. Smart idea for the losers, but not good for UMNO. With such excellent bill of health who need losers.

The idea was first mooted by Gerakan acting president Chang Ko Yuon, not surprising because Gerakan is done, kaput!...... so is MCA and MIC.

It wasn't UMNO that suffered serious erosion of supports. On the contrary, UMNO fared much better this time around than in the 12th GE.UMNO delivered 109 seats out of the total of 133 won by BN. At  state level it won 244 out of 339 seats it contested.

UMNO is alive, well and kicking. This stallion had run the gauntlet and proved the doomsayers wrong. It is BN, particularly, MCA and Gerakan that is in trouble, not UMNO.

Here, two Melayu bodoh organisations, KPRU and Umcedel predicted unmitigated disaster for UMNO at 13th GE. They either have lost their mojo, or just pretty useless at what they do.

Communal politics will continue to stay the favoured political domination in this country. A true multiracial party is still a far cry. The Malays don't want it, the Chinese don't want it even more, the Indians don't want it and Sabah and Sarawak natives don't want it.

The minority races, particularly, Chinese will not be receptive to the idea because a single political entity will overwhelm and dilute their political power and may jeopardise the language and culture in the long term.

Try ask DAP and PAS to dissolve their parties and join PKR as a single umbrella, I bet my bottom dollar the first to object would be the apparatchiks,  Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng and Karpal Singh. PAS leaders will tell you "Kami orang Islam tak boleh campur orang kafir"

I am surprised that Tengku Adnan Mansor entertained the idea of a single party when UMNO is physically and political robust and had not lost its appeal to the Malay masses. It has done extremely well in the 13th GE capturing substantial Malay votes as compared to PKR and PAS. These two Malay based parties are straggling far behind with PAS getting 20 parliamentary seats and PKR 15 Malay dominated seats. Both parties would not have gathered that number of seats without help of DAP supporters.

It was MCA, Gerakan and MIC that have been consigned to the rubbish bin. Other components in Sabah and Sarawak were still able to defend their territories with minimal losses.

I am not a member of UMNO, but I can safely say it won't happen. UMNO is very much alive, well and kicking.

Makes more sense that MCA, Gerakan and MIC should consider converting to a single party.

No need to drag MIC for something Gerakan people said.

Just tell them to merge Gerakan and MCA.

Oh yeah, make people from MCA the leader as well.

I don't know why people like him makes so obvious dumb suggestions, are they just dumb or are they planning to stick UMNO in the back?

One cannot just merge Gerakan and MCA as Gerakan is a political party made up of people from multi-ethnic backgrounds whereas MCA is a single ethnicity grouping.

To merge MCA, MIC and Gerakan into one would mean that MCA and MIC would have to banish its raison d'etre. That would be an interesting development to watch.

Over the past 2 General Elections, the popularity of the component parties has waned, in part due to the seemingly subservience of these component parties to UMNO, bar the Sarawak and Sabah parties.

This has resulted in the diversion of popular voting to the Opposition, especially when issues such as corruption, free and fair elections and transparency have not been convincingly addressed by the ruling coalition.

UMNO is still alive and kicking but if you read a recent blog posting by Sakmongol AK47 on the voting trends of the Malays, UMNO is going to face serious challenges in the coming years.

Tuan Hantu Laut, in Malaysia many people want to be leaders so if only one party the number will definitely be less. That is the reason we have so many parties in Sabah, UMNO,MCA,PBS,SAPP,LDP,STAR,UPKO,PBRS ... hehe semua ada leaders. If one only one party there will be less cakes to other ethnic groups. In Malaysia the more party the merrier because can preserve permanent interests.. whatever that means.

Singapore goverment will implement control on online news websites which require them to apply for licence if they met two criteria: They have more than one news story on the country per week and attract more than 50,000 visitors from S'pore per month, over the period of two months. They tighten the rules to provide greater clarity on their already no nonsense Internet Code of Practice. S'pore would not wait to act when it is too late. Something we can learn for the sake of the country stability...conservative or liberty the end result is your choice.

If you remember the Lingam and the Judiciary case, Tengku Adnan is Tamil ma.. Lingam and mahathir same clique.

That is why he has no compunction to destroy UMNO.

Which state royalty is Adnan from? Everyone has asked that...

so no surprise here. The Malays give 10% support to UMNO and these Indians want to break up UMNO!! haha

Aiyah..Hantu, Unmo is much alive, well and kicking because a lot of Raykat's money has been indecently used to "kua tolong lu & lu tolong kua." Look at the huge sum of money thrown here, there & everywhere during the campaign period. Surely everyone was aware of them as they were carried out so openly. In Penang particularly, one cannot even enjoy one's meal without being interrupted by workers of 1-Malaysia asking to sign up for lucky draws and whatever not. Even if we did not want free makan, also cannot because all coffee shops were bought up. Not that we are complaining on the free makan, just that some of us preferred to have quiet dinner instead of having to rush and queue up for it. Our other option was to go for more costly eateries. Nothing to brag about. Spending so much of Rakyat's money to achieve such low return. Guess we'll have to wait and see how these spending sprees are going to cost the Rakyat.

Lily Zubaidah Rahim, President Yusof Ishak's niece had documented the chinese systematic marginalisation of the Singapore Malays.

Just look at the DAP's CEC election process and you will see the trickery and cheating that happened just to get the results they WANTED. Those vigilantes who harassed genuine voters are the best illustration of the great lengths they will go to grab power.

They are all aware that anwar, pkr, dap are immoral but their utter disgust with UMNO, not BN galvanised such orchestrated actions including high costs to get overseas citizens to return to vote. It shows their RACIST tendencies. They simple HATE being ruled by the Malays together with the Sultans, who they felt waste THEIR taxpayers' money.

These tribes will close ranks just to obtain political power.
