Fake Sultan,Defunct Sultanate And Bunch Of Criminals, Wipe Them Out

Hantu Laut

A fake sultan, a defunct sultanate and bunch of armed criminals chasing an elusive dream.

Should I roll over laughing? The fake sultan calling for a ceasefire?

What a joke!

What locus standi has he to send a band of bandits to try repossess our soil and now when the end is near for our armed forces to finish off the job he called for a ceasefire.

Is he the legal Sultan of the Philippines, or a mad man out to extort money from our government?

Prime Minister Najib, we stand behind you, show no mercy to these cruel criminals who have breached the sovereignty of our nation and wantonly killed our security forces.

Unconditional surrender or wipe them out.

Najib, Listen, Listen, Listen !

Hantu Laut

A competent leader can get efficient service from poor troops, while on the contrary an incapable leader can demoralize the best of troops.  John Joseph Pershing

Pershing was an American General who was promoted to the highest rank ever held in the U.S Army, General of the Armies. The other American awarded this highest rank was George Washington.

John Pershing had seen many theatres of war. He led the American Expeditionary Force in World War I and many other wars involving the U.S. He was involved in the Philippine-American War and saw action in the battle against the Philippine and was cited for bravery for actions against the Moros on the Cagayan river in the Philippines.

This what he said of the Moros  "The Moro is not at all over-awed or impressed by an overwhelming force. If he takes a notion to fight, it is regardless of the number of men he thinks are to be brought against him. You cannot bluff him"

Sabahans are watching closely the nightmare unfolding before their very eyes, a very sad state of affair happening in our once very peaceful state, non of our doings and beyond our control.

Security of the state is the responsibility of the Federal government and you as Commander-In-Chief is fully responsible for the safety and protection of our state and the people.

It is easier to say that we should support the government efforts to resolve the problem and should not make any injurious statement against the government's efforts but needless to say your efforts seemed to bear no fruits. After almost a month your armed forces have shown nothing but screw-ups. We see gross incompetence in the top brass of your police, the military and your ministers. They all have their heads in the cloud.

You have sent 3 or more battalions of soldiers plus police force, air force and naval force to fight a ragtag army of less than 100 rudimentary armed fighters and yet could not find, neutralise, or eliminate them. How many more battalions you need to send over there to end this embarrassing state of affair. They have shamed this country defences to the outside world.

What would it be if there were to be full scale war declared on us?

It is almost a month now and the danger of the armed struggle by the Suluk people exploding into unimaginable nightmare for Sabahans is haunting us ever day.

It is now like the Sword Of Damocles hanging over our heads, which have caused panic among the local population.

It is almost impossible to buy bag of rice and other essential food items from anywhere as they have all disappeared because of panic buying. The situation is going to get worse if the problem is not resolved soonest possible.

Your ministers, IGP and God's know what other incompetents that surrounds you keep telling us Sabahans everything is under control but we see otherwise. They can't even handle this pesky band of fire ants.

I am not a military genius but I can't see any viable military strategy being employed to arrest the problem other than chasing this elusive band of guerrillas that have made mockery of our capability to defend this country.

I have made many suggestions in my previous posts what your security force should do and not do, but none seem to have seen the light of day, not that I expect anyone of them to read this blog. It's just simple common sense that one who knows Sabah well would have done what should have been done.

It is also surprising to me that they have not announce the total ban of the use of pump boats and jongkongs in the waters of Sabah eastern corridor, which should make policing the waters easier and safer for our naval forces. Ban all movement of  such crafts and shoot to destroy any unauthorised movement on these waters.

If any politicians complained that the ban will inconvenient the people shoot them too.

Najib Tell The IGP To Equip Our Policemen With Maximum Protection

Hantu Laut

Look at the picture! It is most unacceptable way of mounting a road block in what can be a war zone in the event of a surprise attack.

Those policemen are completely exposed to the enemies who can spring a surprise attack from a vehicle or from the cover of the palm trees. There is no way they can see whether people in the vehicle armed or not until it's too late, or spot the enemies under jungle camouflage.

There are too many wrongs in what I see in the picture. No protective gear such as bulletproof vest, no protective sand bags bunker and wrong location making the policemen vulnerable and easy target to the enemies.

This is not a walk in the park, or a roadblock to check vehicle's road taxes, or checking for poor illegal immigrants.

This is war!

War means choosing the right strategy and tactic. Worst still, if you are dealing with guerrillas, which makes you even more vulnerable.

What is happening to the IGP, the Generals of the army, or those in commanding positions, are they not aware of the needs to give maximum protection to their men?

Don't tell me they don't know, or they are just complacent and think a gun in the hand is a protection.

First, there should be sand-bag bunkers placed on both sides of the road at least 40-50 meter behind where the policeman is standing and each one manned by at least one policeman with high-powered automatic weapon. In the event of a surprise attack there are backups to counter the enemies. Sand-bag bunkers can be moved from place to place should the location of the road-block be moved to other location.

It is also imperative that the policeman out in the open donned bulletproof vests and helmet to protect himself from fatal shots. He has better chance of survival in the event of a shootout. Never underestimate in which direction your enemy can came from. They can come from any direction.

Another big mistake was the location. The location can give better protection to the enemies than the policemen who can become easy target of snipers or surprise attack. The location is hemmed by forested oil palm plantation on both sides of the road which can give the enemies stealth, cover and protection.

I take this "tidak apa" attitude, part complacency and part laziness, which should not be the case. The IGP must warn the commanding officers to shape up, or ship out.

It's needless to say that in a situation like what we are in right now someone have to die, but why must our policemen or soldiers die in vain due to negligence of their superiors.

Here, the IGP says high morale among policemen in Sabah.

The 8 policemen died in vain due to ruse and surprises sprung by the enemies.

Why take chances!

Close All Undesignated Border Crossings

Hantu Laut

Unless, drastic measures are taken immediately the situation may get worse and spread throughout Sabah if the authorities don't nip it in the bud right now.

There are just too many of them already inside the state, though, most are peaceful, came over many decades ago for economic reasons, it's difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.Among the multitude there are bound to be baddies.

They have planned the armed incursion for a while and have planted sleepers and weapons inside the state before the arrival of the main contingent.

Our top police and military brass are not putting their thinking hats on. Our Home Minister is a wimp. I hope he will not be returned as a minister if BN wins the elections. Make him an ambassador or something of that kind, he certainly not one that should be given the responsibility of a crucial ministry such as the one he is holding now.

Though I appreciate the job that they have done and my deepest condolences to the families of our fallen heroes, our security forces seemed unprepared for such eventualities. The high fatality with just two skirmishes against a ragtag armed intruders speaks volume of their capability to handle such perilous situation. So far there have been 8 fatalities on our side.

It is obvious many of them are already in the state and armed to the teeth, ready to kill or be killed. So far the clashes have been with our security forces.

Unless we arrest the problem now, I anticipate worst may come when they decide to cause widespread panic among the population by massacre of civilians. Knowing their ruthlessness in killing innocent and defenceless hostages in the past, such scenario is not far-fetched. It would be the last thing the military want on their hands.

Countering the menace is not just sending your police or army to go out looking for gunmen. Beside going on the offensive there have to be other military strategy employ to contain the problem.

By now the government should have close all border crossings between the two countries, with the exception of regulated designated ports. Designated ports should be confined to Kudat, Sandakan and Tawau.  No landing should be allowed on the whole stretch of coastline between Kudat/Pitas peninsular to Tawau other than the designated ports. Close all border crossings in the Lahad Datu and Semporna districts.

Deploy sufficent number of navy ships equipped with helicopter gunships to police the border and coastline. Shoot any boat found in unauthorised waters and any boat crossing the waters from or toward the Philippines waters.

All boat from nearby islands in Sabah waters must land at designated landing in the major towns.

Designate landing for small boats from outlying islands in Sabah waters with strict police/immigration control. All person must go through police check.

Only than you can contain the problem. Those already inside cannot leave and the armed forces can eliminate them as and when they found them and many more cannot come in as the border is closed and under strict surveillance.

The authorities have to do it now before more of these heavily armed terrorists  come in and the military will have a bigger problem on their hands.

If things get worse other option that can be considered is isolation and blockage of all their settlements in the state.

I understand this proposal will cause great inconvenience to the people but that the price we have to pay for the negligence of our government leaving our borders wide open to give our neighbour unfettered excess to our land.

From now on the story will be different, we should demand strict border control of all our borders with our neighbours.
