The 2000 majority arrogantly predicted by PAS and Pakatan is now an embarrassment of the first order. As far as PAS and Pakatan are concerned they won the battle but is losing the war.PAS barely scrape through, it won by the skin of its teeth.A 65 votes majority in its so-called impregnable stronghold was a disaster.It's a moral victory for BN and a booster for Najib's leadership.

Read this most ridiculous of statement in Malaysian Insider "Tonight’s results will help strengthen Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat’s position in the Islamist party against rival factions who are keen on working more closely with Umno" The full story here.

Instead, it should read "Tonight's results is a slap in Nik Aziz's face that the voters have shown their unhappiness against Nik Aziz's stance of the unity talk with UMNO"

Those in PAS who espoused unity talk with UMNO will have a field day.

As I have said in my earlier post, narrowing the gap, is a reflection of the growing support for Najib's leadership.

HL,

Clearly the tide have reverse its course, to keep the momentum going BN must built the bridge to show that they care for the people of Kelantan. If they do that the chance of BN capturing Kelantan is very high.

Agreed bro and I think PAS will have to think very carefully what they want to do next. This embarrasing slap in the face for Tok Guru Nik Aziz reduced majority of only 65 in Manek Urai, which followed the by-election in Bukit Gantang clearly showed that PAS in particular is losing its lustre among Malay voters. It will definitely help the PAS pro-unity talk faction to gain momentum in the coming months. And yes, MI editors really surpass themselves with the spin on Tok Guru and the Manek Urai results.

Agree with fearless, that the tide have almost certainly turned for BN and I support the idea of building the bridge at Manek Urai as Najib and Muhyiddin should not disappoint the many BN voters in Manek Urai who have made this event possible.

Bro you said that Pakatan won the Battle but losing the war, may I add that Pakatan is losing the plot also:

1. In Kedah, DAP temporarily going out of Pakatan because an illlegal pig abattoir was demolished;

2. The PKR open fight with DAP which is still not settled in Penang;

3. Penang Pakatan DAP and PKR cannot keep their election promise to save the Kg Buah Pala village;

4. PKR Azmin calling for a Selangor Government Exco reshuffle and DAP Kok retorting in her usual feisty manner and PKR Azmin certainly unhappy.

5. DAP Kok calling PKR Wee a "shit stirrer" for saying that certain Selangor exco is conniving with gangsters.

6. DAP Liu challenging PKR Wee to name the Exco who is conniving with gangsters and PKR Wee say "siapa makan chilli dia rasa pedas"

Certainly cause for much excitement for BN and of course Pakatan in the coming weeks and months.

fearless,
I fully agree with you BN should build the bridge and bring other amenities to the area as a show of appreciation to the people.

This is their stepping stone to build greater acceptance in Kelantan.

eddy,
The Kelantanese is beginning to see Nik Aziz inconsistencies .On one hand he called UMNO unIslamic and communist for associating with non-Muslims but on the other hand it is alright for PAS to sleep in the same bed with DAP and PKR.What kind of logic is he using?

The big chunk of votes for the BN came from the youths who are disillusioned with PAS rhetoric.

It will get better.
