Hulu Selangor:Would Najib Be A Toothless Tiger?

Hantu Laut

With the recent disturbing development in MIC threatening to boycott the by-election and withdrawal of the party from the BN, Najib should not be in a dilemma and must not show weakness in leadership by submitting to threat.

He should stand up to Samy Vellu, either he accepts his choice of another Indian candidate or he is going to drop the MIC and put a Malay candidate.

The MIC claimed that it was due to UMNO's arrogance that they did badly in the March 2008 General Elections and threatened to close down the branches in Hulu Selangor. If that is not enough, they have now resorted to blackmailing by threatening to sack Mugilan, accusing him of stealing the candidacy. Samy wants to show Najib who is boss, a challenge Najib should not left unchallenged.

Samy and his hoodlums wanted Palanival to serve their own interests.

The Indian community have, rightfully, rejected them in the last elections due to their failure to look after the interests and welfare of the community. While Samy and his cronies become richer and richer, poorer Indians have been reduced to becoming gangsters and violent criminals due to neglect by Samy and MIC.

With assistance from the government MIC set up its investment arm, Maika Holdings to increase Malaysian Indian equity in the capital market and the economy. Samy chose who to lead the corporation? His own son Vell Paaria. Maika Holdings is in serious financial trouble and couldn't pay back 66,400 Indians who invested in the company. The company have not declared any dividend to its shareholders.

In January this year Samy approached Najib for his help to sell the only profitable company in the stable, Oriental Capital Assurance Bhd to a GLC, to enable Maika to repay those poor Indians who invested in the company.Najib gave the consent and asked MIC to find a suitor among the GLCs.Typical of the Indians in MIC, they can't see or walk in a straight line, the decision to sell was stopped by a court injunction obtained by none other than Samy's estranged deputy S.Subramaniam who controlled Koperasi Pelbagai Bhd, a shareholder in Oriental Capital Assurance Bhd.

Enough is enough, UMNO has been more than benevolent by giving away a Malay dominated constituency to the ungrateful MIC.

Maybe, it's time Najib shows Samy and MIC the door should they persist with their threat and unreasonable demand.

He wouldn't want to be called a toothless tiger.

Enough have been said about Samy Vellu's MIC which were annihilated in the last GE BECAUSE the Indians have lost faith in Samy Vellu and his cronies/hoodlums.

Today afternoon we will know what Najib is made off...steel or cream. If Najib bow to Samy Vellu and his cronies in MIC, then he does not deserve to lead the BN. No component party especially minority party who exist on the benevolence of the majority should dictate what the BN President can and cannot do.

If Najib chose a candidate not annoited by Samy Vellu then Samy and his whole CWC should resign to protest and take MIC out of BN. PPP and Makkal Sakhti will be happy for sure.

I agree with Eddy totally. Najib must show whether he has the stomach to make a decision that would take MIC out of BN. Basically that will be the outcome if according to Samy. So now, lets see if what Rosmah says about Najib is true. When he is angry, better get out of the way. He will stomp his feet hopping mad. If not I'm afraid we'll have another slumberjack on our hand who see's no evil, hear no evil and do nothing but listen to advisers and PR man to the tune of 70M.
Then UMNO/BN is doomed.

Two cents worth

Whoever is chosen as the BN candidate, it is most likely that the BN will win Hulu Selangor but the discord that has been publicly seen shows that all is not well within the 14 party coalition.

Samy Vellu will have to show if he is man or mouse.

purple haze,

With less than 19% Indians voters in Hulu Selangor,Samy must a brave man to make such demand and stupid enough not to realise he making a fool of himself.

Najib should kick MIC out of BN.He doesn't need these kind of people, flexing their muscles when they deemed you are weak and vulnerable. They misread the whole thing, they think Anwar and PR will take Putrajaya in next GE.

I personally think he has no chance.PKR will break up before next GE.If Zaid win Hulu Selangor, he will be the biggest threat to Anwar's leadership.

My dearest Hantu:

Strangely enough I agree with my fellow Hantu here (because he is a Hantulaut, he is often "at sea" at other times):

With less than 19% Indians [Indian] voters in Hulu Selangor, Samy must [be] a brave man to make such [a] demand and stupid enough not to realise [that] he [is] making a fool of himself.

Najib should kick MIC out of BN. He doesn't need these [this] kind of people, flexing their muscles when they deemed [deem] you are weak and vulnerable.

Yes. But Najib is already a toothless tiger. He has in fact succumbed to Semi-Value's pressures by offering a Senatorship and Deputy Ministership to Planningevil (Palanivel) so that another MIC candidate could stand in Hulu Selangor. Najib's toothless tigership continues.

A better plan would be to let Panningevil stand, and if he loses, this would strengthen Najib's hand in his dealings with MIC and reduce Semi-Value's party to complete irrelevance. Now that P. Kamalanathan is standing instead, what happens if he loses? Semi-Value, with his typical "pusing keling" arguments, will now say: "Look, I told to choose Planningevil, who would have won, but you chose Kamalanathan instead, and what happens?" (even before nomination day, his name sounds too much like kemalangan to me). Semi-Value would of course now shift the blame to Najib, and why shouldn't he?

Don't you see? The problem is not with UMNO or the BN, but with Najib. He is in fact doing greater damage than Badawi ever did. The sooner he is removed, the better it is for UMNO and the BN.

Kindest regards,

Hantu Darat
