PKR's Smoldering Myeloma

Hantu Laut

Another Pakatan's state lawmaker jumped ship and Khalid Ibrahim says it is part of the cleansing process that all young party like PKR has to go through. He quoted DAP and PAS as mentors who told him so.Obviously, Khalid is quite happy to console himself that what eventually be left in PKR would be cream of the crop.

Tan Wei Shu, a Kedah state assemblyman ditched the party yesterday and the party says it is no big deal, he is expected to leave after being dropped as executive councillor for non-performance.

Is this self-consolation a reflection of the state of self-denial of PKR leaders.Refusal to accept the fact that there is something very wrong in the party and its leadership.

Tan was not the first.Half a dozen or more state and federal lawmakers have left the party. It is like rats deserting a sinking ship.

People will only leave a company, an organisation or abandon a ship because they know it is going under.Bad leadership is another reason why people ditched an organisation.

Anwar Ibrahim, in his haste to field a Malay candidate for Hulu
Selangor may have overlooked the making of a contender to his leadership.

The selection of Zaid Ibrahim as candidate for the Hulu Selangor by-election and his winning the seat would have ramification for Anwar Ibrahim future leadership.

Both Ibrahims are politically ambitious but Anwar has the edge being the foxier of the two. However, that doesn't mean Zaid wouldn't, one day, challenge his leadership.Having a parliamentary seat is a bonus and an added strength for him to mount a challenge in the near future.

On the other hand, Anwar being shrewder of the two, probably, has taken a calculated risk that Zaid would have hard time winning the Hulu Selangor contest and if he loses that would put to an end to any possible challenge to his leadership in PKR.

Can Zaid win the Hulu Selangor by-election?

A good probability if the Malays buy his story here. If?.

Bro, Zaid is a threat to Anwar and Azmin as the DAP holds Zaid in high regards. With all the resignations by PKR MPs, DAP is now the majority party in the loose Pakatan coalition so what DAP says carries weight.

Hulu Selangor is a rural constituency made up of majority Malays who are mostly devoted Muslims, it makes no sense for Anwar to choose Zaid who is a well known liberal and an urbane person to boot to be placed as PKR candidate in a rural area, it makes more sense if Zaid is candidate for Batu by-election when Tian Chua's recent conviction is upheld by the appeals court.

I think Anwar has sent Zaid to be slaughtered politically and all indications are there, when half of the PR supporters left the hall when Anwar announced Zaid as PKR candidate a few days ago.

Anyway for a party which proclaimed loudly of their their multiracial inclusiveness sure rings hollow when the political going gets tough what do they do? Surprise, surprise they fielded a Malay liberal outsider to ensure maximum support from the Chinese community who are already a FD vote bank for Pakatan. I hear PKR Mike of Klang wasn't too pleased as he wanted an Indian PKR candidate to face off with BN's MIC candidate.

You see BN walks the talk, when they say they are an inclusive Government, they are, and under Najib they are a listening Government as well.

Whatever it is I think Azmin Ali is a most happy person today and so are the other PKR members who had struggled long and hard for the party and was bypassed by Zaid who jumped from UMNO only recently and was immediately appointed PKR senior leader by Anwar himself.

My prediction is Zaid to lose by at least 3000 votes.

Indeed, its another blow out for PKR when Tan Wei Shu decided to leave the party... it will, directly & inderectly, hamper the efforts by Pakatan to regain the seat at Hulu Selangor & strenghten the BN position to win it back... People is judging PR & BN by looking whats happening inside & around the said coalition, and the recent development (Tan departure) was not a pretty sight. Self denials & calming will not going to help PR to convince the voter, and surely, BN will take used this opportunity to the fullest for they own good....

Your point of view will need to find the right footing in order to be relevant, Eddy.
Your indication of this rural muslims are "devoted". Pls elaborate.
Putting Zaid to the chopping block will be far fetched.
Perhaps Annuar, if he do come across this comment, will have to ensure that your intentions are noble and not as been spelt?
So BN antics are more acceptable?@gmail.com

When he who hears does not remember what he who speaks means, and when he who speaks does not certain what he himself means, that is point of view

To be a noble lenient being is to be enduring a make of openness to the mankind, an ability to group unsure things beyond your own control, that can front you to be shattered in uncommonly exceptional circumstances pro which you were not to blame. That says something remarkably outstanding thither the fettle of the honest life: that it is based on a conviction in the fitful and on a willingness to be exposed; it's based on being more like a spy than like a treasure, something rather dainty, but whose very item beauty is inseparable from that fragility.
