Can They Get Raja Petra ?

Hantu Laut

Is getting Raja Petra as simple as a walk in the park as the police seems to think?

Bukit Aman CID Chief Bakri Zinin said the police would seek co-operation of Interpol to arrest Raja Petra according to legal procedures.

It is unlikely that the UK police would arrest him based on legal documents presented from Malaysia.

Extradition is a lengthy process and can go on for years and are usually the preserve of criminals including white collar crooks. For non-criminal cases the court process would be more tedious.

Remember? Lorraine Osman, who fought the longest extradition battle in British history. He spent seven years incarcerated in Britain before being extradited to Hong Kong for his role in the biggest banking scandal in the world at that time, loss of $1 billion by BMF, a subsidiary of Bank Bumiputra to the Carrian group in Hong Kong.

Lorraine Osman was a criminal.Hong Kong was then a British colony and even then extradition was a messy and lengthy affair.

Is Raja Petra a criminal?

In Malaysia, he may be, in the eyes of his detractors and those who wanted to silence him.In Britain, under British law, he may not necessarily be considered a criminal.

Western democracies see political persecution as crime against humanity and would give protection to those whom they perceived lives to be in danger or facing political persecution in the home country.

Raja Petra knows his stuff. He knows he can get asylum in Britain or anywhere in the EC.He has two ISA records to prove eligibility.

All he needs to do is to scream for one and he has Sun Tze on his side.

RPK is being sponsored by somebody, a bankrupt cannot live the kind of life he is living now in the UK. Its the same with Bala the PI with the ever changing affidavits fame.

Like you say it will be difficult to extradite him and he knows that, but it would not be that difficult to find and trace his source of financing. Find the source and turn the tap off, he can live on the dole.

Alternatively the Government should just do not bother about this man, he feeds on publicity and will wither without it.

RPK is effective for the opposition when he is physically in Malaysia where maximum publicity can be gotten by the usual raids on his house and the occasional questioning at Bukit Aman and stints in Kamunting. In the UK he is just an irritant making noise in his sponsored portal the MT.

He could also be a irritation to the Pakatan people, when he start posting pictures of their visits to see him in the UK which will raise all sorts of unwanted questions.

Put Malaysia in the international arena where UMNO does not control all the levers of government nor where they do have monopolies of power and businesses to leverage upon when they venture outside Malaysia and you all you see is a floundering, arrogant fool trying to act tough because he is incapable of nothing else. This is what 52 years of mollycoddling have done to the Malays. Do you see why the Singapore Malays do not see themselves as disadvantaged in Chinese majority Singapore. Let me tell you a secret. Many Johor Malays have relatives in Singapore and barring the rich UMNO fat cats, the Singapore Malay professional makes more money on a dollar for dollar comparison and is very confident of their ability to forge a better future without a Malay tongkat.

In the first place, does the British Government believe in the Malaysian Legal System if a person is to be brought back to Malaysia will he be treated fairly? There have been many cases where politician especially the ruling party will and has been influencing the decision of the court. A person has been pre-judged as guilty even before he sits for the hearing. Do we trust our present leaders, police and the judiciary systems. If we do not trust them what more the British Government.
