Elections Before Ramadan ?

Hantu Laut

Is there a likelihood that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak would dissolve parliament and call for elections before the starting of Ramadan?

Will he springs a surprise?

More to come.

In the meantime, opposition Pakatan Rakyat is desperate for civil service votes. There are over 1.2 million civil servants and all are of voting age and over 90% Malays.

Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders reminded the country’s 1.4 million civil servants today that they should “be loyal to the country, the King and the Federal Constitution and not to the ruling party,” amid recent concerns about the lack of impartiality among senior government officials.Read more here.

They should be loyal to the government of the day.No need for Guan Eng to warn them. They will vote for whoever they think fit to run this country.

After being debased, rubbished and made the target of public hostility and odium would they vote for Pakatan Rakyat?

Nay!

Guan Eng treats them like creatures without brain and expecting them to vote for PKR?

I've never voted BN and have always voted opposition in the hope that they will better provide for the rakyat.

However, my relation in Penang informs me that civil servants there are not all that happy with the current Penang State government and that rising property prices which put accommodation beyond the reach of many is a big source for dissatisfaction.

Transparency in awarding state government contracts, pleasing Bumiputra contractors and greater efficiency in delivery of state government services are certainly good achievements but at the end of the day, rice bowl matters directly affect everyone's people's lives and will greatly determine their voting choices.

Transparency, balanced budgets, etc don't directly affect people's lives but cost of living does.

Sans some clever and educated CS in the teaching profession, most CS do know the quality of the political masters they were serving. So, although some of the CS were die hard opp supporters, many more were using their senses and knowledge when choosing their master.
n.b: CS - Civil servants not political chap-kangs.
Our alternative government in waiting could do well to give some respect to those CS who have to adhere to rules and regulations rather than to demonize them at drop of a coin. You know 'you scratch my back, I scratch your back'.
"Bila durian gugur baru nak mengaku dia saudara aku". Pathetic.
