Forbes Malaysia's 50 Richest: Apa Lagi Cina Mahu ?

Hantu Laut

We all can play the devil's advocate.

Are the Chinese really second class citizens in this country? Marginalised, sidelined, unrecognised and unappreciated?

So, if that is true, how come there are so many rich Chinese in this country?

Of course, the Chinese will say they work hard, harder than the Malays, which is true, no one will dispute that. Not only they work harder, they are also very frugal with money. They spent money to make more money. They not only take, they also give back to society when they become very rich.

The question is if the Chinese were so discriminated against by the government how was it possible that their enterprising nature were allowed to bloom freely making many of them filthy rich?

Aren't liberal government policies part of the reasons the Chinese had it easy to conduct their business in the country?

The words discrimination and sidelined have been used very freely by some Chinese leaders in the opposition.

Forbes just released the list of Malaysia's 50 Richest.

In the Top 10, there is 1 Malay and 1 Indian, the rest Chinese.

In the Top 50 there are only 9 Malays, 2 or 3 Indians, the rest Chinese.

The combined wealth of the Chinese in the Top 10 is $40 billion compared to the Malay chicken feed $2.7 billion of one lone ranger.

I need not give the total wealth in the Top 50. It can reach the stars.

Hahaha! Should I say (pun intended)....... apa lagi Cina mahu?

Maybe, the Malays should work harder for their money...........not just waiting for windfall from government projects without sweats.

If there is a list of the next one million richest in Malaysia, you will really see how rich the Chinese are. I would, for example, say (as indicator) about 90 per cent of all expensive and exotic cars in KL are owned by Chinese. One of my friends speculated that if we were to pull down all buildings in KL owned by Chinese, KL would look like a desert! So you are very right Apa Lagi Cina Mahu ?

By the way, for cultural and religious reasons Malays can never work as hard as the Chinese. This is what the present Chinese population's grandfathers who came to this country saw. This present living Chinese in Malaysia should thank their grandfathers who suffered to give their grandchildren a better life than China. More important they will, when fully owning the economy one day not too far in the future (after abolishing article 153), rule Malaysia.

Apa lagi cina mahu? Cina will answer: "Apa lagi lu ada?"

They have economic power in their hands, that's the first step. Now they want political power. Then they will rule Malaysia just like another province of People's Republic of China.

Soon Malaysia is just a historical event replaced by "Malay si ah".

So what? AM I supposed to be discriminated because of my skin colour? Am I suppose to be grateful towards Malay because I put in my sweat and blood as compare to Malay who are spoon fed and being given hand-out of everything and anything?

Cina tak sedar diri, u were given special treatment by the brits to plunder the wealth of this land. Malays were sidelined to kg2. U should be grateful to the malays who supported chinese business all these years. Have we discriminate u?? We went to ur shops, buy ur products, accepted u. We have been kind to u. We make u rich, the malays buying power. We make u rich, the malay umno govt give u contracts. Still ungrategul.

When the late Suharto step down during the economic crisis, the Indonesian Chinese abandoned the country in fear of revenge by other ethnic who saw them as controlling and monopolies the Indonesia economy. They brought their monies with them. The black market exchange rate was Rp 20,000 = S$1.00. If the Chinese were willing to help their country the money they brought out of the country is enough for the country to survive the crisis and avoiding borrowing money from the world bank. Can you trust them?
