Hantu Laut
The President of SAPP, Yong Teck Lee has announced that either one of his two MPs would initiate a vote of no confidence against Abdullah when Parliament re-convene on Monday but said SAPP will remain in the BN and would let the BN decides on its fate.
This will be the first time in Malaysian history an attempt to remove a Prime Minister and a sitting government through vote of no confidence in Parliament.
Is Yong going for broke ? It appears so.
It may be a foregone conclusion that most of the opposition MPs,if not all, will support the motion.Without the support of additional MPs from BN the motion may not go through.Yong needs the support of at least 30 MPs from BN to throw Abdullah our if he already has 100% support of the oppositions. It is rumoured that PAS MPs may not participate in it.
It is common knowledge in Sabah that Yong was angry with the PM for not giving him the Sandakan parliamentary seat to contest under SAPP in the recent General Elections. The seat was given to LDP, a rival party once headed by his archrival Chong Kah Kiat, whom Yong has long standing feud with. Both were vying to be the accepted Chinese leader when Chong was still the President of LDP.
All the hullabaloo about illegal immigrants issues are just excuses. This problem has been there since Mustapha's time.Mahathir has been there for 22 years and Yong was thick in the government with him and was Chief Minister under him.Why didn't he fight tooth and nail with Mahathir to resolve the problem then?
He could have done what he accused Abdullah of not doing now when he was Chief Minister and the more powerful Mahathir was Prime Minister, who had no qualms about sending political opponents to prisons but are not prepared to send illegal immigrants away from this country. It showed that when he was in that chair Yong forgot there was a serious illegal immigrants problem in the state.
Yong also forgot there were allegations of a Project M, whatever that meant, where illegal immigrants were issued with Malaysian identity cards and allowed to vote. Some of those voters voted for him when he stood for election in the constituency that covers Likas and Pulau Gaya where thousands of this kind of voters are found.Did he complain?
Every chief minister of Sabah has failed the people on this issue but at least most of them don't go around pretending to champion the cause after they were no more in office and used it as an excuse to challenge the leadership.Leaders like him should have the guts and do the honourable thing, ask his MPs to resign and challenge the government to a by-election and prove it that he and his party have the people's support.
The illegal immigrants problem started with former Chief Minister Mustapha, with the blessings of the Federal govenment then, allowing Filipinos from the southern Philippines to enter Sabah as refugees.
During Mustapha's time no Malaysian identity cards were ever issued to them, they were given UN approved status as refugees and issued with documents known as IMM 13. The issuance of Malaysians identity cards, geniune or otherwise, can be traced to the days of Berjaya and has now exploded to unimaginable proportion.
After the fall of Berjaya, Yong played active part in politics in Sabah from being a deputy chief minister during PBS time to a chief minister under the BN and he had every chance to pursue his very noble cause of getting rid of illegal immigrants from Sabah.Former Chief Minister Chong Kah Kiat tried and failed miserably because the Federal government didn't play ball with him and at that time the all-powerful Mahathir was Prime Minister.
All previous prime ministers and chief ministers had failed the people of Sabah to provide them security and protection from the 'enemy in the midst'.None have been sincere to tackle the problem once and for all.Sabahans are now refugees in their own land because of greedy politicians like Yong and the rest of them.
What makes Yong thinks if all the previous prime ministers couldn't do what he wanted them to do, Badwai can do miracles and resolve the problem instantaneously.
I am sick to the bone listening to such pathetic and shameless talk of politicians who are rotten to the core with personal greed and pretend to champion the rights of Sabahans.
Yong is a political animal, he truly believes Anwar Ibrahim would be the next prime minister and he is preparing himself to jump on the next bandwagon and on to the next gravy train.
It's nothing but a sham and political blackmail.

Dear HL,
You're going to be very unpopular among the SAPP camp if not already.
However, a quick reality check shows that you're right in your assesment of our present predicament.
Our politicians boths from the State and Federal level have been very disappointing.
"........................Yong needs the support of at least 30 MPs from BN to throw Abdullah out if he already has 100% support of the oppositions. It is rumoured that PAS MPs may not participate in it."
as quoted
PAS is an opportunist player. They wait and see which natang divorce from " Balik Neraka" party then it will slip in as a hero.
Hooray !!!!
MALAYSIA BOLEH ! UMNO BOLEH ! PAS BOLEH !
Shit !......

"It is rumoured that PAS MPs may not participate in it."
It is a lie. Nik Aziz said non-UMNO MPs and parties should leave UMNO and join an alliance with Pakatan Rakyat. Concerning the NO confidence motion, it is not PR wants to pursue it at al, it was a psychological slap on the face of AAB and an embarrasment. No body wants to pursue it at all.
"Former Chief Minister Chong Kah Kiat tried and failed miserably because the Federal government didn't play ball with him and at that time the all-powerful Mahathir was Prime Minister."
So how would Yong faired better if it was an official policy of Mahathir to frustrate any solution to the immigrant problem? The only way it is to wait for an opportune time and try to solve it. Saying that the immigrant issue should have been solved under Mahathir is saying Mahathir should have never been the PM in the 1st place. His Deputy got whacked when he challenged him, what about a "pendatang" and a Sabahan for that mean in the eyes of Mahathir?
"What makes Yong thinks if all the previous prime ministers couldn't do what he wanted them to do, Badwai can do miracles and resolve the problem instantaneously."
Wah! So do they say that all other PMs have failed and Abdullah failed and would like to continue failing, therefore, they should limit their options and remain that way? This is scandalous indeed. Note that PR will get strong and if that happens, then Sabah will remain subservient the way it is. Now that PR is weak, they can negotiate from a point of strength.
If we condemn Yong, what are your solutions? May be you should list the best solutions that will heal the wounds in Sabah within this year or within the next 4 years. List? Being critical of everyone for the sake of it points to a scandalous mentality that itself suffers from vested interests. I better go with Aisehman's argument that politicians need to be used to futher the people's interest while they too get their interests. Symbiosis.

Raja Petra has an interesting story on why BN govt must go now and not tomorrow. I suspect Hantu supports Badawi going by his writings.

Wah, you really, really, "benci" Anwar Ibrahim don't you ?
Leaders like him should have the guts and do the honourable thing, ask his MPs to resign and challenge the government to a by-election and prove it that he and his party have the people's support."
I used to think you know a bit of the constitution. I was wrong. You must know that an MP can't resign, then seek re-election in the same seat in the ensuing by-election. So how do you do what you are talking about? Naivety and anger shouldn't make us look stupid.
............
I posted on another thread, but corrected it. Anyway, an MP can't see re-election in the same seat if he resigns in the following by-election. That said, do you have any doubt that today BN will fail in Sabah if we go for an election?
HL,
Your analyses are usually "very well done" & "impartial". However, I fear your "dislike" (I'm putting it mildly here) comes out loud & clear.
Anyway, whatever Yong's reasons, you have to admit that the BN has given "peanuts" to the Sabahans (& Sarawakians too). Yes, the East Malaysians have time & time again supported the BN (read: UMNO). And by the way, who do you give peanuts too? Yes, I guess Yong can be called the "Monkey King"! However or whatever lah...it's about time the BN is kicked out....we have had 50 years of their crooked, corrupted & evil ways!
It's time for the PR & DSAI to come in & prove themselves!!!!!
pok kam,
On the issue of illegal immigrants none of the Sabah politicians are sincere, they make loud noise just to gain political mileage.
colorsmalaysian,
I hope you are as colourful as name depicts.
PAS is an Islamic party and I believe they observe and practise teachings from the Koran.Islam forbids the toppling of a leader duly elected by the people unless he inflicted cruelty(Zalim) on the people.
I may be wrong but that's what I think is the only reason if they stay away from participating in the motion to remove Abdullah.
From The Star today:
Nik Aziz's support for toppling UMNO govt.
In Kota Baru, PAS spiritual adviser Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat invited all Barisan component parties to leave Umno and form a new coalition with opposition parties under the “Pakatan Rakyat” alliance.
He claimed that Umno, the backbone of Barisan, had failed the country, specifically the Malays, and it could therefore not be expected to satisfy the aspirations of political parties in Sabah and Sarawak.

"PAS is an Islamic party and I believe they observe and practise teachings from the Koran.Islam forbids the toppling of a leader duly elected by the people unless he inflicted cruelty(Zalim) on the people."
What's cruelty for you? Is refusing tp help the poor in Sabah and be accountable to their money and resources mean mercy for you? That said, was the election clean and fair for it to be used as a mean of legitimacy of the BN govt? Using state resources exclusively, using state means against the opposition is neither acceptable in Islam nor acceptable in the eyes of moral beings and the civilised world. A govt that takes taxes from all people but uses those resources for BN and its campaigns alone didn't win the nation's mandate. Thugs!
However, you have a deal where you are getting your cari makan from this govt or one who represents it in Sabah, otherwise, the cruelty visited on Sabah and Abdullah's clear ignorance about it is very moral for you. No wonder they say "tragedy bears benefits for others."
To be followed...
Hantu said unless BN is a cruel govt, it shouldn't be toppled (of course the cari makan source for him will disappear).
Read the story below where the BN govt even is refusing to pay water bills for Kedah govt despite Kedah producing 40% of the nation's rice and thus consuming large quantity of water. This forces Kedah to import water, but Badawi imposed sanctions on Kedah. You call that mercy? Cari makan of an individual doesn't mean morality sir.
"We have also asked the Federal Government for financial assistance for the water supply to Penang and Perlis and for the rice we are producing for the country. Since the Government cannot assist us financially, we will carry on with the logging activities,”
Azizan added.

Raja Petra's explanation on this matter (I can see someone else pointed to this same article, Zulekha)
http://www.malaysia-today.net/2008/content/view/8997/84/
hi, I've been away from blogs reading for a week and from the state, by the time I came back it feels like years have gone by.
Let answer this question: leaving BN intact as it was and is with no resistance, will they fulfill their promises (referring to Sabah)? If they acted lame duck in the last 20 years, I don't see any urgency in another 20 years.
Look around, pick any political leaders who resemble to angel! I just want to have little faith-many opposition party leaders had undergone a kind of training (imprisoned among others) perhaps they now understand better how to behave as leaders. Do you all think the current BN leaders will change? Because of that I want the leaders of the government changed!
As quoted by Hantu Laut

Hey ! Hantu Laut, ofcos I 'm as colorful as colorsmalaysian is.
Hope you won't get mad, my comment has nothing to do with any religion.
As you know, recently PAS has quoted it will discuss with "Balik Neraka" regarding their cooperation and also apply some Islamic laws to the Five states (Penang, Selangor, Perak , Kelantan and Terengganu )
Does PAS means to violate some of RAKYAT's basic rights ? !
Think ! Think ! Think !
Malaysia is a multi-racial and multi-religions country.

All Sabahan politicians who have been very loud on the II issue are liars and do not give two craps about it or Sabahans.
It's just an excuse to threaten BN and to gain more money and power to whoever bids the most.
I thought Katak King?
But still the same ABILITY!
JUMP!
Kekeke...
ashame to have a leader like him.
I once shit in the same toilet with him but different cubicles la!
Hantulaut,
I never though that you work for the Khiary paid website. Oh, thank God that now people can see where you come from.

mambo,
Whose the liar?
Read what Nik Aziz says about Yong in NST today 20th June.
Yes,I will continue to condemn him as long as he is in politics.
All that loud noises he made are not in the interests of Sabahans, it is for his own interests.
There are very few clean politicians in this country and Yong is not one of them.
He is a phoney.
zulekha,
I support myself and my own opinion, I don't need to support anyone, Badawi included.
I write according to situation and to certain facts that I know of.I do not indulge in rumours, if the source I believe is based on rumours,I usually highlighted it in my articles.
kittykat46,
I don't hate Anwar,I just don't trust him.
anonymous,
Since you are very clever and an expert in constitutionl law, would you be kind enough to quote me the relevent section of the Election Act.
If you don't come back with an answer than I know you what you are.
Anyway, you wouldn't care isn't it,you are anonymous and there are millions of them around.
Dear sm,
I don't care if BN is kicked out of Sabah or Malaysia for that matter but I can't stand politician who lied through their teeth and try to portry they are fighting for the rights of Sabahans when in fact they are self-serving motives.
Yong is not fighting for Sabahans,he is angry with Badawi for not giving him the candidacy in the recent elections.
kadir,
I like your simple mind.
We all cari makan,I don't need BN or Abdullah,I am richer than Bill Gates.
kadayanjournal,
We certainly do need some changes.
Yong didn't want changes, he wanted something for himself,he didn't get it, he got angry.
Sabahans are no fools.
fie the elf,
You are absolutely right. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
jeff,
Thanks for pointing it out.I am proud that another blog or newsportal have found my article worthy of publication on their website.
A number of blogs have also done it in the past and none of them I knew or ever met.Everytime a blog carry my article I feel exhilarated and very proud.
Ask Raja Petra, whom I never met and he doesn't know who I am,how many times he has carried some of my articles in Malaysia Today, which I am thankful to him, because he sent a lot of traffic to my blog.
I also occassionally write for Asia Sentinel in Hong Kong.
Thank you again for pointing me in that direction, another blog that recognises a good piece worthy of wider public circulation and thanks to Khairy Jamaluddin if he actually read my article.
HL,
Thanks for the insight about someone who is pretending to be an angel.
Inilah yang kita tidak gemari. Pemimpin yang sanggup bersekongkong membuat
pelbagai perbuatan jijik tetapi kerana sanggup jadi pak turut, dijaga seperti
Menyampah
saya rasa semua pemimpin BN.
HL,
By the way, I know it's not what we'r discussing here but have you guys seen RPK's STATUTORY DECLARATION?!
Oh God!
The DPM (Rosmah Mansor) & indirectly her hubby (Najib) are involved. The PM (Pak Lah) & God's gift to Malaysia (his son-in-law KJ) know about it!
The very top Leaders in the BN 0Read: UMNO) are either involved or know about it!
God help us or rather God help RPK because they will NEVER allow this to come to light!
i dont really beieve with your post, :)
hantu laut what it means it should be ghost on the sea ^_^
the article should be talking abut the nightmare in the sea
The real Monkey King is the BN Persident. He keeps a lot of these naughty monkeys in BN (eg YTL, MA). He monitors and keep records of each. If one gets naughty, he give him a little sweet (senatorship). If he gets out of had he opens these books and pull of his pants, exposing his little johnny to embarass him. Tsk! tsk! Notty notty Monkey King.

SM,
That's a shocking revelation.Raja Petra must be a brave man.I hope he can substantiate his story otherwise he is in a lot of trouble.
HL,
RPK has been hinting at "something" for quite some time now. And so this should have been expected of him. Yes, he is a brave man. All I can say is God protect him & his family. We all know that the "powers that be" will not sit quietly (they havebeen rather quiet about this) for long!
zawi,
You know as well as I do there are very few straight and honest politicians in this country, the amount of wealth they can amass in a short while is mind-boggling.
Not only them, their children and family are also beneficaries of this corrupt ways.
This country would have gone to greater height if we have responsible leaders with the highest probity.
Beware of those masquerading as saviour of the people.
