Hantu Laut
Why now!
Musa Hitam, a BN appointee as Chairman of Sime Darby, the largest Malaysian conglomerate, given as token of respect for his political contributions to the country says Pakatan Rakyat will not bankrupt this country
Maybe not, but those who don't know the value of loyalty, can never appreciate the cost of betrayal.
Obviously, Musa either forgets 'which side his bread is buttered,' or he is buying insurance, just in case Pakatan first passed the post and took the chequered flag.
Another probable "cari makan" story.
I too believe PR will not want to bankrupt the country, but that is not the real issue. The controversy is Pakatan's manifesto and bespoke budget, which Musa deemed propitious and was quick to give his support.
It is a policy that will have tremendous effect on the multitude who have no power to reverse a bad policy once passed by Parliament.
Yes, Pakatan populist policy is going to bankrupt the country because what they have proposed is unrealistic, unsustainable and is a foolhardy attempt to fish for votes.
He can fool the spuriously intelligent urban dwellers who, rain or shine, good or bad, will blindly support and follow them to the centre of the earth, but he can't fool the real intelligentsia with uncanny eyes for details.
As in the adage "there is no fool like an old fool" he should have restrained himself.

Those 'has been', they can say whatever they want to be said and do whatever they want to be done. They had a taste of power, they have all the luxury of this worldly life can offer, they have lots and lots of cash to last them until their great-great grandchildren who will never have to struggle to feed and cloth themselves from birth till death. Who cares for the nation and it's population, they have 1001 exit plans if ever anything goes wrong in this still prosperous nation. They don't care, they were political chameleon before and forever will they be the . To each his own they will say and that is that!
In a household where the expenses matches the income, then the budget is balanced.
In society, it matters not that one has a high gearing because when they see the particular household having being able to service their debt, then they are doing well. Lets call this family A.
Compare this to the fisherman who has no bills to pay and living off the land. 'Kais pagi makan pagi. Kais petang makan petang',and this family BV.
Society will see family A in good stead as they are progressive and able to afford wordly things, as opposed to family B.
But budget wise, is it prudent for family A or family B? Yet, in todays world, credit comes to those who can 'pay'. As long as they keep paying, they are in good 'standing'.
We see BN tabling budgets for 55 years (at least) and in Malaysia's history, we have been gaining gopod ground.
With PR's populist budget, it seems that they are more interested in winning votes from the various sectors. (I don't quite get how eliminating 1 million civil positions is gonna help them with introducing 1 million jobs)
That said, the power to choose is still in the rakyat's hands, and I have argued before that if indeed the elections was flawed as cvlaimed to be by Bersih, then we would not have such an opposition.
