The Bible - No thank you

Hantu Laut

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Malaysian oppositions have refined the art of ingratitude. Read Kit Siang's growl.

Even if the government do the right thing they would still demonise the action.
It's like a spoiled child brought up by equally spoiled parents who have never uttered the word 'thank you' and think the world owe them a living.

"Thank you" an expression of gratitude exists in every human language.Tough absent in the animal kingdom certain animals can still be taught to express gratitude as in "dog is a man best friend" where human kindness is reciprocated by the animal protecting its master.

So what if Najib allow release of the Bible based on political consideration, isn't all, including religions are about politics.

The stoppage by the government which should not have taken place in the first instance is most regrettable. As Minister in the PM's Department Bernard Dompok lamented that no such action was taken during the tenure of former Prime Minister Mahathir in spite of the fact that there was a standing order issued by the cabinet.

Mahathir was in control and his successor the so called "Mr Clean" was not.He was also "Mr Nice" and "Mr Yes" trying to please everyone including giving huge project to the now Sultan of Sulu and in the process screwed himself and his government pretty well.He has given to the world that the Malays have deep-rooted sense of insecurity

The government is insulting the intelligence of the Malays that we can't think for ourselves even in matters such as religion.

Take a notable look at the history of religions where people are willing to die for their beliefs.Wars have been fought in the name of religion.Even today and sadly, all for greed, Muslims killing fellow Muslims. What's happening in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan right now is the obsoletism that religion unites people.

It is obvious nothing the government can do if a Malay, in body and mind, want to convert to another religion, openly or covertly. It only achieve one objective .....making the government looking stupid.

We are no more in the age of camels and horses, we are in the space age where the far reaches of our solar system would soon be within our reach.

Stop the Bible in Malay and ban Christians the use of the word Allah?

What about
this. Can the government obliterate it, or ban the Internet completely, or ban Muslims from using the Internet? The whole Bible from "Genesis" to "Revelation" in "Bahasa Indonesia Seharihari" is available on the Internet.

I support the government of the day but I don't support stupidity. It's time Najib put his foot down and get rid of all that little napoleans before they get rid of him.

It is absurd to think that the Malays would convert to Christianity en masse because of the "Al Kitab" or would the government also like to ban the use of the word "Al Kitab" because it is in Arabic as some religious bigots would think is synonymous with Islam and has monopoly over it.

There must be something good in Islam that have made one-fifth of mankind walking the face of this planet.Roughly, 1.4 billion of the world population are Muslims and still growing.

I was a child of the colonial era where Christian missionaries abound in Sabah.I went to a government school where religion was not a factor and my girl friend who is my wife now also a Muslim went to a convent school, a Christian mission school where study of the Christian's scripture was compulsory. She got distinction in scripture.

Did she convert? No !

We keep the Bible, the Koran in Arabic and Koran with English translation in our home.

Have we converted. No!

My daughter finished her 'A' level in England with a chapel attached to the school which she attended once in a while.

Did she convert? No! She did even better than me, she and her husband donated many Korans to the poor Champ people of Cambodia and donated a cow as korban every Raya Haji. After studying for many years in England she came back with greater faith in her religion.

I go to church to attend funeral services every time my close Christian friends died.

Have I converted? No!

I still love my religion and fear of Allah.

So, please stop insulting us Muslims.

Anwar Clutching At Straws - tit-for-nothing

Hantu Laut

As a last desperate attempt to salvage his reputation Anwar Ibrahim is clutching at straws trying to divert attention away from his controversial sodomy trail to imbecile implication of Najib in the Altantuya murder case.

Read here how he tried to flog a dead horse, a tit for tat, a case proven not linked to Najib.

Here is a totally irresponsible reporting, torrent of innuendo, gossip, lies and half-truths.Insulting the intelligence of Malaysians.I am pretty sure Najib has more brain than brawn, there are better ways to bump off people, certainly not using your own bodyguards. There are hired killers who would do it for next to nothing. Why shit on your own door steps ?

Think ??? Who hired the two?

Najib is not on trail, he is.

The people of Malaysia is still waiting for the pictures he promised to produce to show Najib with Altantuya. Not one has surface so far.If it was taken by a film camera there must be negatives somewhere or if it was digital an expert can still retrieve those images from the memory card.Worst still he allowed his PKR's master forger Tian Chua to doctor a photograph and upload it to the Internet.

How do you trust a man who is capable of telling lies not once but umpteen times and is prepared to allow fabrication of evidence that did not exist.

What surprised me was not even one international investigative journalist has pursued the case to get those pictures and bare the truths to the world that the Prime Minister of Malaysia was involved in a murder. There is big money in this kind of story.Even Hollywood may be interested to make a movie out of it.

They did ! On Uganda's bad boy .......Idi Amin.....The Last King Of Scotland.

Blase' !

Master Of Political Connivance

Hantu Laut

Whatever you want to call this man........ a blatant liar, a political liar, a dictator, a manipulator and the dirty list can go on as long as you wish, the fact remained, he is still very popular with the common people except for the no-brainers who succumbed to the hogwash political propaganda churned out by the oppositions and its maestro.....the so-called victim of political conspricy and frame-up and supported by people who do not need to think for themselves, who can't separate the wheat from the chaff and found it easier just to follow the Rat-Catcher (Pied Piper) of Hamelin because he promised he can kill all the rats.

Within three days of the launch of his memoirs 10,000 copies have been sold.

As Mahathir has admitted, to err is human, he has made many mistakes but removing Anwar from office was not one of them.

Many may not concur with his decision but than many do not know many things that Mahathir was privy to during his tenure as prime minister. It is natural that our sympathies always go to the vanquished and more so with Anwar's messianic oration of being religiously victimised by Mahathir then and Najib now.

Sometimes, cleverly designed self-infliction can generate greater sympathies. Didn't Lee Kuan Yew says Anwar knew about it but walk into the trap anyway.Who would believe he would actually commit another sodomy other than a frame-up, this time a conspricy by Najib and Rosmah.

How many of you would you take your coffee-boy on your overseas trips or would you rather take your beautiful secretary? Since I am straight and if I do have extra-curricula activities on my mind I would certainly pick my beautiful secretary rather than my coffee-boy and vice-versa, if I am not.

Anwar, by any stretch of one's imagination is no Gandhi, Mandela or Aung Shan Suu Kyi.Anyone who made him out to be is scrapping bottom of the barrel. The closest he came to is a dictator.

While Mahathir still keep his friends how many of Anwar's close friends and old political aides are still with him? You can start counting from Chandra Muzaffar and be surprised how long the list would be.

His delaying tactics of more than 30 times of his sodomy trail has whittle away public sympathy. The whole thing has backfired and his refusal to give specimen of his semen for DNA sampling is seen as self-incriminating.

Just as the FBI to the United States and Scotland Yard to United Kingdom, the Special Branch of the Malaysian Police is the eyes and ears of the state. So, if the chief of police, as an example, tells the prime minister there is a mole in his office he would have to listen to him.

J.Edgar Hoover, the man who built up the FBI, the first and longest serving Director of the agency was very concerned about subversion and threat of communism, he even amassed secret files on political leaders including President John F.Kennedy and stumbled on his sex romps in the White House. He was so good in his job of fighting crimes and exposing wayward political leaders he served the FBI as its Director until his death. He became so powerful the U.S. administration has now limit the director's term to maximum 10 years.

I have no doubt Mahathir tells more truths than lies when he says former IGP Haniff Omar told him about Anwar and Ops Lallang. As Home Minister then he has only one choice, to listen to his security advisers or ignored them and put the nation's security at risk.

What would you expect from the opposing camps? Without any doubts a spin and abrogation of the truths that Mahathir signed the arrest order which they cunningly twisted as a personal order from Mahathir. Many Malaysians fell for this kind of political trickery and subjugation. They are clever antagonists and masters of political connivance.

Joseph Geobbels well known for his zealous oratory and anti-semitism successfully convinced Hitler and the German nation that the Jews are bad people and must be exterminated. Nazi Germany conducted the biggest human genocide ever known in history.

One just have to read the opposition's propaganda which is in a twitter of becoming explosively racial, pitting one race against the other.

It is the same in any hierarchy, be it government or business, the leader takes the credit for job well done and the blame when things go wrong.Splashing the red ink on all that Mahathir has done is most thoughtless and unfair. The man has done more in term of physical and mental development than those before him and with the bigger economic pie corruptions ostensibly larger and more widespread than before, I will not disagree but did Mahathir takes money for himself ?

Even in his book "Malaysian Maverick" Barry Wain expressed skepticism that Mahathir have taken money for himself and I am of the same opinion.

Let us see who called Mahathir a liar. Most are failed political leaders who aspired the top office but could not make it because Mahathir stood in the way and blamed him for their own incapacity.

There is Anwar Ibrahim, there is Tungku Razaleigh, there is Lim Kit Siang and there are some rejected UMNO leaders during his time who did not get what they wanted.

Of course, there are the blinds leading the blinds.

I am still not convinced Pakatan Rakyat under Anwar leadership can be a better government.

RPK:Finally,it's a matter of perception

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin

This was the problem we faced in the past. We could never get Anwar Ibrahim’s legal and political advisors to agree on a common strategy.

And Anwar had more than one advisor. And each advisor had his/her own idea of what the best strategy was. This was why we considered the Sodomy 1 legal/political defence badly handled.

Some of these advisors lamented about the frustration they faced in getting Anwar to agree to a strategy and to stick to the agreed strategy. Sometimes the legal team embarked on a political campaign rather than a legal campaign. And sometimes the political team appeared to be launching a legal campaign rather than a political campaign.

This was probably the best example of too many cooks spoiling the broth. And an added frustration was: after getting Anwar to agree to a certain strategy, someone else would go meet Anwar and he would agree to another course of action. It appeared like ‘the last one in’ had the final say and the earlier agreed course of action would be abandoned in favour of the latest idea.

Any general would tell you that you do not change course in midstream. Once the direction has been decided you stick to it and see it to the end. Once the forces have advanced and you change course, this would mean utter chaos with everyone not only going in opposite directions but also at times bumping into each other.

This is a sure way of losing the battle and finding your forces trapped in the open. As they say, there are no bad soldiers, only bad commanders. And a bad commander is one who sends his/her forces all over the place with no clear direction from the top.

I used to be one of those who faced this frustration. Just as I thought everything had been agreed and a concrete battle plan had been formulated, I receive word that someone has managed to convince Anwar to agree to a new strategy and what had been earlier agreed was now no longer on.

There was many an occasion when I just gave up. When I inquired into whom this new ‘mastermind’ was, I was appalled to hear that the change of direction was mooted by the very person who was the architect of an earlier most disastrous campaign.Read more.
