Is Abdullah In A Quandary ?

Hantu Laut

Zaid Ibrahim has made true his promise. He resigned from his ministerial post today.Would the rest dare do the same? Should they resign in drove to send a clear signal to Abdullah that the situation has reached critical point and the demise of BN is imminent if no solution is found to appease the coalition partners and some UMNO MPs from leaving? It may not happen on 16 Sept but it looks more and more incline in that direction.

The heat is on to save UMNO from disintegration and the government from falling into the hand of Anwar Ibrahim.

On the other side of the political fence the race is on to find enough BN deserters to steal the government from under Abdullah's nose.

Abdullah may not realise that the wind of change is about to reach Category 4 and can soon reach Category 5, the end of the scale and most destructive, unleashing fury of irreparable damage.By then it would be too late to do any repair, the damage is done, it would be total loss.

The recent ISA arrests had inflicted another serious dent in the BN already fractured armour. The Minister of Home Affairs lapse of judgement and ridiculous reasons given for the arrests had hasten the process of destruction.Nothing can be more stupendously ridiculous than saying the use of the ISA was to protect the person concerned from threat to her safety.Does the Minister think all Malaysians were born yesterday? He has done more damage to himself and the government.

Abdullah should take a leaf out of the Japanese political system where the prime minister would resign when he has exhausted his popularity within the ruling party. The situation with him is worse as not only he is unpopular within his coalition, he faces the same on the ground.

Prime Minister Abdullah may have to re-look at the transfer of power. He can either resign now or carry on at his own perils. The choice is his.

Its getting obvious the ISA stunts were the work of either

a) The Police, without consulting the PM and Home Minister

b) PM and/or Home Minister without consulting the rest of the cabinet.

Politically it has backfired in a big way, and The Emperor Has No Clothes.

HL,

Pak Lah is not going to quit. It seems he has called Najib "in" for a chat (I think he realised suddenly that Najib may be thinking of teaming up with Muhyiddin & therefore indirectly TDM). After their meeting, it was "confirmed" that the transfer of power will be done as announced earlier in 2010!
This is good.....even without DSAI, UMNO is going to "implode"!
Well, what can you exect from a bunch of Crooks?!

I have not seen one leader in the present government who dares.

Perhaps, each has a lot to hide to be on the forefront.

Pak Lah seems to stay...

is it true? Just heard that tomorrow DSAI will meet PM to ask for a handover?? DSAI claim that he now have enough MP to form a new government. If it's true, then Abdullah is in more than just a quandary.

In the Japanese system, the Cop would have resigned, the Minister would have committed Hara Kiri and the Prime Minister and his Govt would have tendered their resignation to the Emperor.

Under the M'sian system, the Law Minister resigns while the rest want Teresa's Kok's head!

Anyway, I was there with 20,000 others at KJ stadium last night and heard it from the horse's mouth. They have the numbers and will be asking AB to guarantee a smooth transfer of power tomorrow!

Putrajaya, here we come!

Donplaypuks,

I am JEALOUS!!!!!
I am outside the country & therefore missed being there. I would have loved to be at the Kelana Jaya Stadium.
You have been at a gathering that will be part of Malaysia's History. You can tell your children's children one day that you were there! Good for you!

kittykat46,
The police itself have no authority to arrest under ISA, all arrests must be signed by the Minister of Home Affairs and handed to the police for execution.

sm,

Pak Lah has the right not to quit as he is elected by the people. Only majority of the people representatives, the MPs can remove him as PM.

Even if UMNO remove him as President of the party now he still can refuse to resign as PM.It is not in the Constitution that you must be the president of a party to be PM.In UMNO it is by tradition.

zubli zainordin,

donplaypuks,

Sorry to say Anwar may have the number at KJ stadium that night but I doubt he has enough MPs to takeover.

Dear HANTULAUT,

Pak Lah is a classic example, here, in this context.

Please observe, he must not quit, and he must be allowed to proceed as the Prime Minister Of Malaysia because he has the mandate, the majority win in PRU 12.

Also observe the price increase of petrol and diesel he announced in June 2008, as an example. In addition to the chain reactions of increase prices of goods, products, and services in Malaysia.

As the national economy is continuously shrinking, and the worst is yet to come, shall we ask Pak Lah, please do not step down, please proceed to mid-2010 and as long as you wish becuase you have the mandate, and the majority.

It is okay, do what you prefer and do not do what you do not wish, afterall the ones who are suffering is us, the Rakyat of Malaysia.
