Zaid's Racists And Fascists Anomaly

Hantu Laut

A beneficiary of the UMNO legacy who had suddenly found his lost conscience and discover high moral values under a new umbrella.Don't kid yourself that this is true.Wait till they become the government.

Zaid Ibrahim, a lawyer by profession and a politician by design, has called on Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah to join PKR saying the Tengku is the only one who is not a racist in UMNO, which according to him has become a fascist organisation. Is PKR in desperate need of new leadership? Has Anwar Ibrahim lost his shine that they need to bring in people like Razaleigh to prop up support.

The outcome of Manik Urai could have been the wake up call that spurs Zaid to appeal to Razaleigh. Both Razaleigh and Mahathir have been critical of the government.Maybe, Zaid should also call Mahathir to join PKR.Better still, add more icing to the cake, get Abdullah Badawi to come along too.

The Oxford Dictionary described fascism as ......an extreme right wing political system or attitude which is in favour of strong central government and which does not allow any opposition.

So! Where does UMNO fits into this factor of fascism.Right wing, yes... strong central government, yes...and does not allow opposition, certainly not true. The opposition is now strongest ever for the past 50 years. It is the main ingredient of fascism, absolutely no opposition.

Let's take a look at what right wing entails.

According to Wikipedia right wing is support for preserving traditional or cultural values and customs and maintaining some form of social hierarchy. In modern times right wing also support capitalism and free markets.

Being right wing, therefore, is not as evil as badly painted by Zaid.A strong central government is the dream of every government without which there cannot be law and order and without which any states in the federation can or will try to break away.

Nations with weak central government come under the definition of 'failed state'.Malaysia is not, by any stretch of out imagination, a failed state yet.

Pakistan can be called a failed state because the central government has no control over its territories in the northern region. The North West Frontier provinces are ruled by war lords with their own sets of law.Somalia, is a failed state, true and pure, it has no central government in the true sense. The country is in a complete state of anarchy.

These are countries that started with Western-styled democracy that they have no notion about. They copied their ex-masters blindly but do not have the same commanding attributes to exert influence and control over the people. Just like man cannot live by bread alone government cannot survive on idealism alone and there is nothing wrong with democracy tailored to suit the country's polity.

Singapore, would not have been what it is today if Lee Kuan Yew had listened to the West and adhered to Western type democracy. It is of no doubt that Singapore's success has also been due to Lee Kuan Yew's zero tolerance against corruptions. Not only the streets are clean here, the government, in fact almost the whole system is clinically clean of corruptions.

The opposition is trying to impose an idealistically unrealistic form of democracy and one that I believe they themselves wouldn't be able to put into practice when or if they do form the government. All the sanctimoniousness and portentous remarks are just ploys to inveigle the people. Anwar Ibrahim was part of the so-called fascist regime before and have indulged in same activity. So is the caller Zaid Ibrahim, a recipient of UMNO's benefaction, who had never questioned his conscience before whether his rise to fame and fortune was of his own making.

Razaleigh is in the last leg of his political life and is not likely to sell his soul to the devil and succumb to Zaid's histrionic praises of him.

In praise of Razaleigh, the lawyer turned politician said “He (Razaleigh) will not use the police and or the MACC to bring about the downfall of his political rivals. He will not appoint racists as newspaper editors. His wife will not be offended if her photograph does not appear in the newspapers.”

One would have thought as a lawyer Zaid would have been more careful with choice of words. To lump everyone in UMNO as racists and fascists is a gross overkill.

Mussolini and Hitler must be laughing and kicking in their graves.

Anonymous,
If you don't have the power to comprehend and argue logically, get lost.

For your information an 'i' is a vowel not a consonant.

How do you arrive at this conclusion? Do you have a Nostradamus kind of set up or crytall ball you can gaze through to divine what would have been? The end justifies the means?

Perhaps, with true democracy, S'pore may have atatined its wealth much earlier and surpassed that of USA, UK and Switzerland?

And were China, Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia the better off for racism, Communism and fascism?

Sure democracy is not perfect in real life but it's a darn sight better than death squads, genocide and Nazi's!!

The Barisan government has achieved 0% in reversing the trend of racism.

While South Africa has disbanded racism through the government initiative after the global news onslaught, our government leaders are propagating FACISM and RACISM in every way.

In term of racism, we are the most uncivilised country in the world. Look into our neighbouring countries of Asia, they are advancing economically on a straight forward objective, for their citizens.

Whereas we are moving in deviationist path, widely off the international economic theory for the sole objective, of propelling the well being of a supreme race.

Mahathir era is over, then we have Badawi. Is he changing the trend? Not a single sign of it.

How about the future under Najib? Sad, sad. They have more camouflage in readiness.

Lee Kuan Yew said the relationship between Malaysia and Singapore has not always been smooth sailing, and so investing in the Iskandar Development Region (IDR) may not always be smooth sailing for Singaporean companies.

This is simply a statement of fact that nevertheless appears to have gotten local Umno leaders into a tizzy.

Every local Umno politician hopes to be in a position to be approving investment flows into the country because to stand as gatekeeper is a very lucrative position, and when public squabbles erupt between Umno politicians about who is the better "protector of malay privileges and rights", it usually means someone just wants a bigger cut of the investment action for himself.

Go figure that one.

Of course, the relationship between Malaysia and Singapore is special because of the race relations issue.

Singapore has been the favourite whipping boy of the Umno-controlled malay vernacular press for the last 50 years, and if anything are seen as even bigger devils than the local Chinese and Indian citizens of Malaysia in the eyes of Malaysia malay Muslims.

The fact is Singapore's development model has meant that Singapore malays are far better educated, far better equipped, far better paid, far more self-confident, and self-reliant to deal with globalisation than malay Muslims in Malaysia.

This makes Ketuanan Melayu, malay Agenda, and the NEP look like failed racist apartheid policies that have impoverished everyone except Umno cronies. Of course, Umno must demonise Singapore to maintain the illusion that Umno politicians are nationalists and not parasites, and more so if Singapore happens to be better educated, meritocratic, richer, and safer than Malaysia.

Malay Muslims in Malaysia have been brainwashed by Umno for the last 50 years into thinking that the Chinese and Indians both Malaysians and Singaporeans have gotten rich at their expense, and this perception probably won't change anytime soon because Umno does not have another elections winning formula if it dumps the present demonisation formulas.

Every time Singapore first world achievements are compared with the sluggish competitiveness, economic, educational, professional, scientific, technological, and social standard in apartheid Malaysia, there is the predictable keris waving, baying for blood, and frothing at the mouth in every Umno up and down the country in Malaysia.

Although Chinese and Indian Malaysians have simply accepted the gross racial discrimination in business, education, and job as a fact of life in Malaysia, the non-apartheid non-NEP meritocratic Singaporean mindset may not have the stomach for this particular type of nonsense in the IDR.

I think Lee Kuan Yew is way too smart to think the demonisation process of the Chinese and Indians in the Umno-controlled malay vernacular press is going to stop anytime soon. How else is Umno going to win elections except by continuing to perpetrate the lie that the orang asing minorities in Malaysia are a threat to the malays?

Nevertheless Lee Kuan Yew may be hoping Chinese and Indian Singaporean investors will not be discriminated against in the IDR in comparison with investors from countries like China, Europe, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and United States.

In the meantime, I am sure it will simply be business as usual for the rest of us in racial and religious apartheid Malaysia.

That is why malay is the most arrogant, corrupted, racist and terrorist race in the world. To the world population, malay is only a minority. And yet, still keep on talking about Islam, Muslim, Syariah law. Shame on you!

HL,

why dun you heed Ku Li's call and for once blog for the general good of the rakyat in total ? Let me quote here what he said .

“What we must do now goes beyond political parties. We need the rakyat to rise up to claim their institutions, and demand that our public institutions are answerable to them. We must wake up to our sovereignty as citizens, reclaim the constitution which constitutes us as a nation and guarantees our rights, and demand a comprehensively reformed government to restore public confidence. We must do this before it is too late” – Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.

Bro, Zaid is just trying very hard to please his master Anwar Ibrahim who invited him into PKR and appointed him straightaway to sit in PKR supreme council. Zaid must be very nervous with all the PKR veterans watching him and what has Zaid achieved since he joined PKR? Were there any earthshaking incidents that was caused by Zaid since?

Beside the usual name calling, labelling and unsubstantiated allegations against UMNO/BN and Najib in particular, something now accepted as ineffectual cakap tak serupa bikin trade marks of Pakatan leaders and hardcore supporters, that he repeats zombielike in ceramahs and his writings, Zaid has brought nothing to PKR or Pakatan. Zero, Zilch.

In fact since Zaid joined PKR there have been many more ugly going ons in PKR and Pakatan, example DAP and PKR open feud in Penang, the ADUN Wong nude picture scandals, DAP lost Perak when 2 PKR Aduns jumped ship,PKR YB Azmin calling for Selangor Exco reshuffle, PKR YB Woo alleging gangster/underworld links in Selangor State Government, DAP YB calling PKR YB shit stirrer and the ongoing investigation of 6 DAP Aduns for possible misappropriation of public fund and not forgetting how YAB Khalid can afford his palatial mansion with his MB salary etc. So where is PKR Zaid, Anwar's great hope is in all these, no where actually, he is just an expelled exUMNO member picked up by Anwar to be his running dog to bark up the wrong tree and just make loud and irritating noise.Pathetic.

For a lawyer who used to own one of the biggest law firm in Malaysia, I wonder if he really knows his stuffs having obviously got it all mixed up with the term racism and fascism. I wonder if he got all the lucrative legal contracts which made him a very, very rich man because of what he knows or who he used to know?

Hmm, I am thinking that the Malay proverb about "kacang lupakan kulit" and "macam melepaskan anjing tersepit" does fit Zaid well in respect to how UMNO had rewarded Zaid and how Zaid repays the trust.

donplaypuks,
Have you read Lee Kuan Yew's two- volume memoirs?I arrived at that conclusion because of what Lee said in his books.I am no Nostradamus or have crystal ball I am stating a fact, Singapore is guided democracy.

We are talking about Zaid Ibrahim not death squads, genocide and Nazis.

Look at what you pal say here.

"In term of racism, we are the most uncivilised country in the world. Look into our neighbouring countries of Asia, they are advancing economically on a straight forward objective, for their citizens.

Whereas we are moving in deviationist path, widely off the international economic theory for the sole objective, of propelling the well being of a supreme race"

This boy will go a long way of becoming the biggest racist.

eddy,
We are a free country, only some idiotic Malaysians don't think so.Anyone can join any political parties including Zaid.

He says UMNO is a racist and fascist organisation what about him and Anwar Ibrahim? What! They are reformed racists and fascists?

They picked on stupid article written by some idiot in Utusan Melayu and allow people like Lim Kit Siang to stir up racial sentiment and accused the government of being racist.

Now even the Royal Commission they questioned and are not happy with, still politicising and shit stirring the people.

How do you deal with mad and uncivilised people?
