Anwar Ibrahim and Kit Siang's Deafening Silence

Hantu Laut

We always hear the never ending story of Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang on the poor state of the Malaysian economy, painting a bleak picture of gloom and doom, of foreign investors giving Malaysia a wide berth and the imminent collapse of the economy. Are these two jokers going to say something good with this news that they did not anticipate.Malaysia came a remarkable No.10 in global competitiveness.

As usual most pro-opposition news portal and blogs did not carry the news.

Are the two jokers going to dispute the report put out by IMD, one of the world's top ranked business school.

Lairs always feed on their own lies.

Those who are interested can read the full report here [Full release with charts (PDF)]

Whatever it is, Hantu, Singapore, which is first in the list, is still ahead of Malaysia — it is frustratingly ahead of Malaysia in almost everything. Malaysia should be there where Singapore is. At any rate, the close proximity of the two countries might have an osmosis effect on Malaysia, and I'm quite sure that some friendly competition between them has led Malaysia to where it is. Another factor is the Badawi administration (yes the efficiency is not due to Najib, whose reign is still in its infancy): Badawi must have done a few things right during his reign, leading to the elevation of the country's efficiency.

Bro, just think about it, the anti NEP people makes the argument that Malaysia is not competitive because of the NEP affirmative action therein. So the latest figures showing Malaysia leaping 8 places up to within the top ten of the most competitive nation on the planet makes the anti NEP movement what, just an excuse for the already rich and prosperous not wanting other people to catch up? The people tasked with drawing up and political leaders approving the New Economic Model should be careful what they tweaked.

Beside the almost inevitable echo of comparing Malaysia with the tiny city state down south ruled exclusively by the iron fisted Lee Dynasty, it is very interesting what Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang for that matter Zaid who likens Malaysia to be like Zimbabwe has to say about Malaysia's latest competitiveness rating.

HL,

This is the same with you believing we grow at 10 % last Q !
Hmm....come to think about that, the last time we grow at 10% was in the early nineties...What's the similarities and differences then and now ?

We improve in competitiveness rankings does not really mean we improved in absolute terms ! We looked good because others have regressed much faster than us, and the factors affecting them may be temporary, so you may want to keep those champagne for the next time !

Let me ask you; hypothetically, If your son always failed his mathematics by scoring 30 points, and for this one term, a few more of his classmates scored worse than him, whereas he is still at 30 points, are you still going to be one proud cocky father !?

listen... anuar ibrahim and kit siang are in opposition part.. that's why they have to oppose all the gov things
but to tell that Malaysia's the 10th most competitive country to them is not a good idea..
I think they also feel good deep inside

Tumbawa,

I think it's time you learn to give credit where credit is due.Don't be blinded by your likes and dislikes. Both Anwar and Kit Siang's political campaigns are pure hyperboles.

Take it with a pinch of salt.
