The Irascible Tun Mahathir Mohammad

Hantu Laut

Is former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad sounding like a sour grape? It seems he has not given up throwing stones at Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. He said "The choice of the candidate is really very bad because people see him as a proxy to be used if Najib becomes prime minister".

Sure, he is entitled to his opinion but for 'goodness sake' the man is leaving does he need to be insulted and admonished more than he already had.

I am not a great fan of Abdullah but I believe there must be a limit to this kind of political posturing and grandstanding, more so from a man who have had an exemplary leadership and respected for his contributions to the nation's progress.

It is also hard to understand what does he mean by referring to Wan Ahmad Farid as a proxy to be used if Najib becomes prime minister. If ? I thought it was very clear that Najib would be prime minister come this March.Does Mahathir still harbour any doubt that he wouldn't be and Abdullah would renege on the deal ?

When he was prime minister didn't he choose people he can trust and loyal to him? When he chose Abdullah over Najib as his successor wasn't it because he wrongly read Abdullah's character and credentials, because he thought
Abdullah would be easier to wrap around the fingers and more likely to carry on his agenda and unfinished works.

It appears that the man who love UMNO very much is also out to destroy it over personal grudge. He knew very well that UMNO is walking the tightrope in the Kuala Trengganu parliamentary by-election.The thin majority obtained by
UMNO candidates in 2004 Elections and in March 2008 speaks for itself how dangerously close they have been to losing the seat to PAS.

Mahathir's mounting campaign against Abdullah might just as well be sending message to the voters in Kuala Trengganu not to vote for the UMNO candidate Wan Farid and if he loses, which is very likely that he would, than he would say, just to prove his point, that it was rejection of Abdullah's
leadership, not UMNO.

I am sure the people of Trengganu would still remember what he did when PAS took the state in the 1999 Elections. He withheld the 'Wang Ehsan' and peter out development projects. The American did the same to Hamas when they won and become the government in Gaza, the American feared that with the aid money they would buy guns and other weapons.

I have great admiration for our former Prime Minister for the progress he brought to this nation but he's what the young people would say "chill out, baby" give Abdullah a little bit of space to breath before he makes his exit.

It's best that UMNO leaders and members ignore this kind of political posturing and concentrate on winning the by-election.Can they ?

Gaza:Dirty American,Ruthlessly Cruel Jews And Stupid Arabs

Hantu Laut

When Hamas won the Palestinian parliamentary elections in January 2006 what did the United States do ? Hamas took 76 out of 132 parliamentary seats thus making it the legitimate government.

The world's biggest hypocrite the United States of America refused to recognise the legitimacy of this democratically elected government. It also cut off all aids to the Palestinian people and imposed sanctions. This so called guardian of democracy is the epitome of human wickedness, hypocrisy and the true devil incarnate.

An Israeli shell explodes over the Gaza Strip (4 January 2009)

Intensive aerial, land and naval bombardment of Gaza.

While it interfered and launched full military force to evict the Iraqi invaders out of Kuwait it approved and allowed the invasion of Gaza by its ally Israel.Indiscriminate aerial bombings had taken many innocent lives including women and children. The assault on Gaza is an atrocity committed by both the US and Israel.Civil infrastructures had completely broken down.Water and electricity supplies have been cut off and the whole country had been cordoned off making sure nobody can leave the area.Gaza is now one big concentration camp in the middle of a war zone and the killing of civilians continues.

A Palestinian child cries during a funeral in the Gaza Strip (4 January 2009)

A Palestinian child and a dry tap.Water had been cut off.

The Gaza strip is not exactly a country by any sense, it is only about 360 sg.km.Although, they have given up governing Gaza in 2006 the Israel still controls Gaza's air space, territorial waters and offshore maritime access, as well as its side of the Gaza-Israel border. It means Gaza is actually one big prison and the access to supplies of food, medicine and other resources are control by the Israelis.

Israel excuse for the bombardments and invasion of Gaza is defensive action against Hamas regular rocket attacks on Israel. What ? Against rickety rockets that have so far killed only one Israeli.Do you really need full military retaliation that so far had killed over 500 mainly innocent Palestinians and displaced hundred thousands more civilians by cutting off their supplies of water, electricity, food and medical supplies. This is cruelty of the first order and only the Zionists are capable of such inhumane treatment supported by their master, the evil empire, the United States of America.

This war is not about religion. This is a war of people deprived off their ancestral land by the Western powers who created Israel out of the 'Land of Palestine'.Not all Palestinians are Muslims, there are also Christian Palestinians but they are in the minority.

The ruthlessness, selfishness and cruelty of the Jews had always been the cause of their persecution since biblical days.History have shown that they have been persecuted by almost everyone else they come into contact with and the worst was by their own Caucasian cousins, the Europeans who are now protecting them and allow them free rein to unleash their military might against defenceless Palestinians.

Many in the West, especially the hypocrites, would say it is politically incorrect to say such thing because they don't want to be reminded of the atrocities committed by them against the Jews.Their past misdeeds and atrocities against the Jews had made them conscience-stricken.Now, they are repeating the same mistake and did what they have done before, allow the persecution of another race of people and what could not be better than using those you have persecuted to do the dirty job for you.

If the Americans and Europeans are sincere they could have stopped Israel, but they are not, they actually wanted the Palestinians out of Israel by allowing the Jews to systematically persecute and kill them through ethnic cleansing. The Jews are not sending pop corns into Gaza they are mobilising a full invasion using heavy artillery, tanks and aerial bombings on a population that have nothing to defend themselves with. This disproportionate war is to ensure maximum casualty and damage on lives and properties of the Palestinian people.

Not to be sounding racist or rude and with due respect to them it is the Arab's mentality to think that they are better than everyone else and inconsideration for others are common denominators among the Arabs.

Most sensible people would evaluate their own strength first before taking on an opponent and Hamas, for all intent and purpose, is very stupid for having ignored the ceasefire and sent their rickety rockets to Israel that could hardly kill an ant.Isn't that looking for trouble and stupid ?

In this crisis the American should carry the biggest blame because they have the power to stop it.The man behind all this is none other than that soon be leaving moron in the White House George Bush the mass murderer. He blames Hamas for the crisis but this wouldn't have happened if he didn't choke Hamas and the Palestinians.

It is also his farewell gift for Obama. He has another 14 days left before handing over to Obama, maybe, he should bomb Iran before leaving.

The Indians That Wanted To Be Kings

Hantu Laut

Why did the people voted the oppositions, DAP, PKR and PAS in the 8 March 2008 General Elections which they have now formed a coalition called Pakatan Rakyat (PR) ?

The PR coalition took 5 states and won almost all the seats in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.Although they failed to get the central government the results were a mixture of awe, shock and disbelief for many Malaysians. Some couldn't believe that they had actually succeeded in humbling the BN and denying them the two-thirds majority.

Many Malaysians were disillusioned with the corruptions in BN, the NEP, the Malay supremacy and the discrimination and marginalisation of the other races. It was on those premise and promises of equal treatment of all races and the promise to fight corruptions that got PR voted in.What have they done so far ? Have they tried to fulfill those promises in the states under their control?.Other than squabbling among themselves and among members of the parties jockeying for position they have done nothing of that sort.

In Ipoh DAP stalwart M.Kulasegaram announced he would resign as city councillor if he is not made mayor of the city.In Selangor PKR MP for Kapar S.Manikavasagam reputedly to have very close relationship with Anwar Ibrahim has taken the Menteri Besar of Selangor Khalid Ibrahim to task and accused his government of sidelining the Indian community and not looking after their interests and of ignoring his position as MP.A PKR leader said PKR is not an Indian-based party, it's Anwar's multiracial party.

The Indian community voted en masse for the oppositions because the BN demolished many Hindu temples and marginalised the Indians. Now they have a government of their own choice that still demolish Hindu temples and sideline the community.

When are the Indians going to be happy people and feel they are Malaysians and not Indians ? I know of some Indian families who look for brides for their sons from India as if Indian girls in Malaysia are not worthy enough to become wives.

Selangor seems to be the state with the most problems among coalition partners and among party officials.PKR state executive councillor Xavier A.Jeyakumar had a spat with the speaker of the assembly over the Klang Sentral bus terminus issue.

In Perak, PKR state assemblyman Chiang Ming Kai and PKR MP Dr Lee Boon Chye were defiant and went against the state executive council decision not to hold elections for village chief. They went ahead and allowed the villagers to elect their own ketua kampong in Kampong Baru Gunung Rapat, a first and history for Malaysia. This is a government in anarchy. The Menteri Besar and the state assembly had become redundant and powerless. This is the type of government that many very democratic thinking Malaysians wanted, comprises of people with appalling behaviour.Spare the rod and spoil the child is what it would be if no action is taken against the two. There wouldn't be any for sure.

The only government within the PR stable that has some sense of direction are probably Penang and Kelantan.

DAP and PAS are completely incompatible partners, there is not an ounce of similarity in their framework, it's a cat and dog situation.PKR is directionless, Anwar has no control over his MPs and assemblymen and is a scaredy cat and wouldn't dare reprimand or discipline them because if he did he fears they may abandon the party and join the other side. It's a dog-eat-dog world.

Although in the minority the most outspoken and demanding are the Indians, they all wanted to be kings.

I say it is a time bomb waiting to implode.

Having A Good Time: Sex Party ?

Hantu Laut

The Year 2008 was a momentous year which many of us would be glad to leave behind. The year ended with even more tragedies, the bombing of Gaza by Israel that killed hundreds of innocent civilians and a tragedy that took the lives of about 60 New Year's Eve revellers in a nightclub fire in Bangkok.A night of merry making that ended in tragic consequence. The nightclub owner should rot in jail for a long time.

I feel for the parents and loved ones of those who perished in the fire.Danger do not forewarn us and we accept acts of God as something beyond our control but when human failings were the cause of our grief, the pain, the anger and the desire to hit back persist for a long time. The pain of losing someone you love, those of your own flesh and blood is a torment that not many can endure. It's a stab in the heart that reposes in silence. For some of us time is a great healer but for some the wound would never healed.

New Year's Eve has always been a traditional and universal display of joy to usher in the New Year with resolutions and expectations.Alcohol is the spirit for those who needs it to trigger their adrenaline rush to meet this joyous occasion. The police have always warned revellers not to drink and drive.Good advice not many of us took seriously.

As we live far from where we are going for the evening and being law abiding citizens my wife and I checked into a hotel at 6.30 p.m.The first stage of our evening was dinner at a friend's house, a doctor by profession and a gourmet cook with a passion when he is not dissecting patients.Sumptuous food, good wine, good spirits and enduring conversations with doses of intellectual intercourse and unintelligible talks that went on till the wee hours of the morning. There were so much talking among friends and families, the drone of conversation actually drown the sound of music played in the background which finally died by itself and forgotten. There were so much to talk about even 'Auld Lang Syne' was forgotten at the stroke of midnight.

We left our friend's house at about 2 a.m. and both truly at 60 and still full of energy decided to go to our regular watering hole, our favourite club, and what a pleasant surprise most of our friends and people we know were still there. It was a jolly good New Year's morning.Went back to the hotel as the cock was crowing. We have never spent New Year's Eve this late, it must be a good omen.Checked out of the hotel 8 a.m.Slept only three hours, old people don't need much sleep, and we are old by any measure and poorer by about RM400.00 for a room that we only used for four hours but happy and glad to be alive.

Don't drink and drive ? Yes ! If you have too much, take it seriously, killing yourself may not be as painful as you killing others.

Well let me get to the real gist of the story. Most Malaysians would probably have read this hot item in the news.I could not but feel apprehensive about the whole thing. Was it really a sex party or just a group of friends getting together for a New Year bash and where alcohol would be consumed and the danger of drink driving was taken seriously hence the renting of the service apartment for the party. As usual Malaysia's main stream media including the worst of the lot, Bernama, can never publish a complete story. This kind of reporting print a pretty picture of the standard of journalism in this country.

How did the police stumble on the private party, was there a tip-off, were they caught red-handed having sex orgies, were there complaint from the public of them being public nuisance and disturbing the peace? How can you called a party a sex party when there were no actual fucking and screwing and the people were found fully clothed.

The worst is the media reporting of personalities involved which can be narrowed down to identifying the persons concerned.Other than the drug taking which I am against, the police has no business busting a private party.Don't we Malaysians have anymore personal liberty?

Where their effort are much needed in crime prevention and solving crimes they pay little attention, so much so, the rape and murder of so many young girls were still unsolved. The thieves and robbers are getting bolder, violent crime is on the rise, organised crime are getting more organised and the police are more organised catching people who were having a good time, probably on a tip-off from a spurned lover or from someone out of envy and jealousy.

In Pahang, over-zealous enforcers from the Islamic Religious Council, who had nothing better to do other than raiding budget hotels hoping to get a hard on catching unwary couple in bed and hoping to make video of it and post it on the Internet.Around 56 people were detained in early morning raid.I wonder how many were forced to strip to face the camera as evidence they were screwing each other. There have been reported incidents of such appalling behaviour of these enforcers of God's laws.

In another news, Malaysiakini reported a man was tortured by police by pouring boiling water over him.He was badly scalded.Bukit Aman is investigating. We have to wait what Bukit Aman have to say about this gruesome action of the police if the allegation is found true.
