Inilah Anwar Ibrahim! Melayu Senang Diperbodohkan

Hantu Laut

Bersih:Don't Cry For Me Malaysia!

Hantu Laut

I would have supported Bersih if it was a genuine and independent movement, free of politics and free of Pakatan Rakyat interference and its malicious politicking.

It was not. It was not an honest to goodness citizens' concern for free and fair elections. It stinks all the way to hell of dirty politics.A political hound dog heavily tilted toward the oppositions. Amiga is a stooge of Pakatan Rakyat, there is little doubt of that being untrue, no matter how much she denied it.

In Sabah, my home state, I joined the chorus of oppositions to the proposed coal powered plant because the NGOs that spearheaded the movement was truly independent and apolitical, organised by ordinary Sabahans, out of concern for their environment and the future generations. No politician was in any way involved with the movement. We managed to convey to the government our gravest concern for the health of the people and damage to the eco-system if such dirty and polluting plant were to be built in Sabah. We have other alternatives of much cheaper and cleaner source of energy which can be used. Sabah has plenty of offshore natural gas which could be harnessed into powering the power plants. The Federal government is giving us raw end of the deal. They knew it, we knew it.

We did not go to the streets to show our displeasure with the government, we used other avenues to channel our frustrations and objections. We used our elected representatives, organised seminars to bring awareness to the people and used the Web to spread the message to a wider audience.

We won. The Prime Minister personally killed the project and replaced it with gas-powered plants. At least, whatever evil you spoke of the man, he listens and stands to reason.Of course, without any doubt, he is hoping to keep  his "fixed deposit"

We, Sabahans, do not understand the mentality of West Malaysians, where they should show real concern they simply do not take any interest to set it right. There are at least 4 coal-powered plants in West Malaysia and there was not a single squeak from these people who proudly called themselves activists, some even consider themselves as elite activists and public intellectuals, which again is a very West Malaysian thing, giving credit to themselves for insignificance and insubstantial.

On checking the "Top 100 Public Intellectuals" names such as Marina Mahathir, Malik Imtiaz Sawar, Art Harun, Nurul Izzah,  Hannah Yeo and the smart-ass "Niamah" flea, none appeared on the list.

The selection for top public intellectuals, though no all that perfect, has not yet gone down the gutter as much as the "Nobel Prize", which awarded the most belligerent and warring country's president a "Nobel Peace Prize". If Obama deserved the "Peace Prize" than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad should be even more deserving. Unlike the American, he has not started any war, bombed some poor nations killing thousand of innocent civilians. That's the West for you, even if they do wrong, they do right.

Do not forget that might is always right, except David and Goliath, where the mighty giant was stupid.

Coming back to the West Malaysian mindset, many of the things they like to do are copying others and even that they are not doing well, fumbled and stumbled most of the time. Anything, from making movies to wanting to ape the Arab Springs, they have absolutely no originality, they think everything West is "the" thing to emulate. Everything west of Istanbul is good. Surely, we must be discerning enough in separating the wheat from the chaff. Not everything from the West is suitable for our society. So what if those donkeys in the West want to occupy Wall Street with their stupid demands and nobody is listening.Nobody is going to give away their hard earned money away to people who think the world owe them a living and do nothing about themselves. Do we have to ape them kind of idiots as well?

The West Malaysians are either on siesta, in a state of slumber, or state of denial. They don't know what's going on around them, always groggy, they could not see the distance.Only politics can stir them into action.

"LYNAS" a year ago, they were still very much asleep until some smart-ass Pakatan MP stirred them.

LYNAS! rare earths, they may have thought these are some kind of precious metals but later found out, when the project was already in advance stage, rare earth could be a deadly radioactive metal element. One that could give the future generations lots of problem.

Taking cue from Sabahans that successfully killed the coal-powered plant, they think they can do the same thing, unfortunately, Pakatan Rakyat's politicians hijacked the whole darn thing, turning it into a circus and them the clowns. The clowns continue to gather support from those as ignorant as they are ,trumpeting that Lynas is not safe, if safe why not site it in Australia nearer to the source they say?

These morons never did their homework, which is typical of Malaysian politicians, always surrounded by "yes men" and half-baked advisers without knowing that the project was initially approved to be sited in Western Australia nearer to its source of supply at the Mt Weld Rare Earths mine own by Lynas but for reasons of economics decided to move the processing plant to Malaysia.

Between 29 May and 3rd June 2011 out of grave concern for the people's welfare and to ensure protection of the environments from radioactive pollution the Malaysian government invited the IAEA of the UN to conduct an independent review. The IAEA team was not able to find any non-compliance with international radiation safety standards.

Yet the smart asses Pakatan leaders continue to instigate the people to protest without warning them that should the whole project be cancelled the Malaysian people would have to fork out few billions ringgit in compensation to Lynas, a subject of litigation against the Malaysian government.

The Pakatan leaders, do they care?

Hell no! they are only interested to grap power, by hook or by crook.

BERSIH! Today is the 'D' day where clueless West Malaysians would gather under the Malaysian sun to show support for the opposition Pakatan Rakyat and its stooge, Ambiga Sreenevasan to protest all for nothing.

THE STOOGE

The face of evil

Look at this video, is it peaceful, a sit-in as promised by the organisers, or provocative behaviour ?

Here is a great Bersih song about Malaysia, the banana republic. It was so sad even the crocodiles cried.

I would have prefered the one below by the very talented Andrew Lloyd Weber.

I would cry the day Pakatan Rakyat, a coalition of political misfits took over this country.

Tears Of The Shit-Stirrers

Hantu Laut

They can't even get their act together, making a song of freedom almost entirely in Chinese and English and relegating the National Language to just one line .The lyrics do not rhyme, nor it is poetic, it sucks to the bone.

Pathetically inappropriate. Patriotic Malaysians should stand up against such lies.Malaysia, by any stretch of one's imagination, is not a tyrannical state as portrayed in the video.

These are the confused lots that are more responsible for the racial rift in this country than 20 Ibrahim Alis put together.

So dramatic, makes Malaysia sounds worse than Israel.

The oppositions have done well in brainwashing and turning them into human robots and hound dogs.

Shame on you Amiga, shame on all of you who supported Bersih.

They are Anwar and Pakatan Rakyat's hound dogs

What's That Big Shit Coming From Sabah?

Hantu Laut

Plantation and Industries Minister Bernard Dompok said “have you ever heard Anwar talking about something that is not big. He is always talking about something that is big happening all this while and you are hearing it again from him”.

Anwar, in a seething moment of anger and desperation always think big, talk big and shit big.

Remember the big takeover lie of 16 Sept 2008 that fizzled.

He now claimed another big thing going to happen in Sabah in the next few weeks.

Let me tell you what is that big thing that is coming from Sabah.

It was rumoured that Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Lajim Ukin met Anwar in Singapore, under cover of darkness, and told him he is prepared to cross over to Pakatan Rakyat and impressed on Anwar that he can secure win of at least 18 seats in the coming GE.

Like most disused UMNO politicians that found out they are not likely to be chosen as candidate and refused to let go, they go to the opposition, to test the waters. If they found the water too murky and unpredictable they would return to their old fort with plenty of cock and bull stories.

Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Lajim Ukin who told reporters that he was not convinced with Anwar’s claim that the incident would rock the nation. “He can say anything but we will see,” he said when asked to comment on Anwar’s claim that several leaders in Sabah would be announcing their support for the Pakatan Rakyat.

Sounds like repeat of the big lie of Sept 16!

Here's something from Mark Twain" on "The Decay Of The Art Of Lying"

"the wise thing is for us diligently to train ourselves to lie thoughtfully, judiciously; to lie with a good object, and not an evil one; to lie for others' advantage, and not our own; to lie healingly, charitably, humanely, not cruelly, hurtfully, maliciously; to lie gracefully and graciously, not awkwardly and clumsily; to lie firmly, frankly, squarely, with head erect, not haltingly, tortuously, with pusillanimous mien, as being ashamed of our high calling".

Yes, lie, for the good of mankind if you have to, but not for your selfish self!

Bersih Rent A Crowd

Hantu Laut

A question for Ambiga, why must it be Dataran merdeka?

There are hundred of places you can show off your virility, if you actually have any.

Obviously, any where else off the beaten track, you would not be able to attract the people to carry out your political agenda.

Dataran Merdeka does not belong to people like you, it belongs to law-abiding Malaysians, not people with political agenda.

A bunch of bullshit artists, a protest like yours should be like spontaneous combustion, just announce the time and place, if you have the support of the masses, they would even go to Timbaktu.

In central KL or Dataran Merdeka, you can rent a crowd for free, ain't it?

Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These):Umno tore apart my father’s legacy’

Hantu Laut

Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused.

Don't let them fool you, they are no lesser crooks.

KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah governor and chief minister Tun Mustapha Harun’s son has accused Umno of betraying his father’s trust and tearing apart his legacy.

Badaruddin Tun Mustapha said it was ironical that Umno, the party that his father had helped enter into Sabah politics, had plundered the state and reduced its immense wealth and power to a few handouts from the federal government. Read more.

ICAC And UBS Say No Comment to Sabah Money Laundering Report

Hantu Laut

In an article carried by Asia Sentinel, the ICAC when asked to verify Sarawak Report's mass of transactions and documents on claim of Musa Aman misdeeds said "We would not comment on questions on operational matters."

UBS has responded in similar fashion in the article below.

But says its policy is to cooperate fully with authorities

The Swiss bank UBS, at the center of allegations of money laundering by Sabah’s chief minister Musa Aman, said it couldn’t comment on the claims although a spokesman for the bank said UBS is fully committed to assisting in the fight against money laundering.

“UBS does not comment on market speculation or rumor,” Mark Panday, a spokesman for the bank’s operations in Hong Kong, told Asia Sentinel. “However, in all markets in which it operates, UBS’s policy is to cooperate fully with regulators. Indeed, it is committed to assisting in the fight against money-laundering, including corruption and terrorist financing.”

The Sarawak Report, an NGO based in Kuching and London, alleged in a report made public Sunday that more than US$90 million was passed circuitously in 2007 by Sabah lawyer Richard Christopher Barnes from Musa into Barnes’ UBS Hong Kong account before it was forwarded in turn to a UBS Zurich account in the chief minister's own name.

The money transfers allegedly were shepherded by a UBS client manager named Denis Chua, who originally worked at the Singapore branch for HSBC Hong Kong until 2006. According to the report, Chua moved to UBS, taking the accounts with him.

The Sarawak Report said Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption discovered the transactions in an investigation into alleged money-laundering by a Musa associate, Michael Chia Tien Foh, and compiled a detailed list of the transactions between Barnes, Chia and the UBS accounts.

Denis Chua is believed to have left UBS. A call to the UBS Hong Kong office elicited no response. Panday declined any further comment on the matter.

Hong Kong’s money-laundering law, which appears to be focused mainly on drug trafficking, nonetheless make it an offense for bankers, lawyers or accountants to deal with property they know or have reasonable grounds to believe represents the proceeds of drug trafficking or other serious crimes. Offenders are subject to a maximum of 14 years in prison. Records must be kept on any transaction over HK$8,000, the rough equivalent of US$1,000.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s voluminous guidelines put the onus on banks and other financial institutions and their professional employees to ensure that companies follow legal guidelines on deposits. As required by the guidelines, banks make it a common practice to subject all employees dealing with the transfer of funds to regular, detailed briefings on money-laundering statutes and the penalties involved.

The need to guard against money laundering received new impetus in 2004 when the Hong Kong Monetary Authority urged banks to be especially alert to the possibility of money laundering as the territory prepared tReda moreo become an outlet for yuan-denominated deposits. In June of that year, the HKMA issued a supplement to the territory's anti-money laundering guidelines, setting out "Know-Your-Customer" principles, taking account of the requirements of a paper on "Customer Due Diligence for Banks" issued by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision

Pakatan:A Den Of Iniquity

Hantu Laut

Anwar Ibrahim instigated students to demonstrate against the PTPTN. Is he suffering from dementia?

He pretty well screwed his chance of becoming the prime minister because is now seen as a pathological liar.

Here, Rocky Bru revealed was transpired in Parliament in 1997. Extract from the Hansard here.

Anwar was then DPM and second most powerful man in UMNO and the government, the other jokers, Lim Kit Siang and his son Lim Guan Eng all supported the PTPTN with gusto.

All three telling egregious lie. Vote them at your own peril.

Desperate needs, desperate measures!

Anwar And Najib: "The Hare And The Tortoise"

Hantu Laut

Another of Aesop's animal story "The Hare And The Tortoise" The story concerns a hare who ridicules a slow-moving tortoise and challenged him to a race. The fast-running hare soon leaves the tortoise behind and confident of winning, decides to take a nap midway, when he awakes, he found his slow-moving competitor has arrived before him.

Two weeks ago I placed a poll on my side bar ....
Who would you choose as PM in the 13th GE, Anwar or Najib?

For the first few days Anwar was leading by as much as 70 %, leaving Najib far behind and a probable loser. Anwar, the hare continue to lead the next few days. However, Najib the tortoise sprung a surprise when he caught up with Anwar by the 7th day and thereafter surged forward to take the lead taking 56% of the poll at closing date.Anwar scored 43%.

I must admit the small poll is not a true reflection of what the real end result would be in a real contest, but it gave me a big surprise. I actually expect Anwar to win big on account of my observation that Anwar and the oppositions command bigger following on the Web than Najib and the BN.

Major Web portals such as Malaysiakini, Malaysian Insider, Free Malaysia Today,Malaysia Chronicle and the ever controversial Malaysia Today gave unequivocal support and unbending loyalty to the oppositions.

Malaysia Today, of late has toned down its tirades against Najib and the government and is showing more balanced repertoire.

The true battlefield is in West Malaysia, where the deluge of oppositions' supports are concentrated. Najib should deploy the full force of his political war machines in areas where he has better chances of winning.

It would be wise of him to write off (subtly, no saying out loud) Penang and Kelantan and concentrate in taking back Perak, Selangor and Kedah. He should also write-off most of the Chinese dominated seats as it is foregone conclusion that his disused component parties, MCA and Gerakan will lose most of the seats to DAP.Both parties are still living in a state of denial and the only hope left for them....miracles!

He should not worry about Sabah and Sarawak, the two chief ministers are more than capable to retain the states for BN, as long as he does not upset the applecart.

These are the realities that will, make or break him.

Is Malaysia Sinking To The Depth Of Ridiculousness

Hantu Laut

When I first read this article I could not make out what LGBT stands for.Only towards the middle, after the writer defined the acronym, did I understand what it stands for.

I am getting used to the crapping of our "too smart for their own good" Malaysians. The smart alec, you can swim or sink with them to their depth of ridiculousness, or call a spade a spade...stupid!

What is wrong with these hypocrites, why can't they just leave these LGBT alone.Leave them in their own world. It's not our business to judge them.If you believe in religion than you should also believe that only God can decide what your genetic blueprint would be.Of course, the hypocrites and the pretenders would not agree and associate it as a sickness, a perversion.

Being gay does not make one a criminal and it is within their democratic rights to stand for public office as afforded to every citizen of this country under our constitution.

Who is this holier than thou Azwanddin Hamzah to decide that they are licentious lot practising free sex and must not be allowed to become elected members. .Where did he gets his statistics from, or he is just another one of those typical misinformed Malaysians who plucked figures from the air, a figment of his overheated imagination, no different from that nit witted UMNO MP Baharom Mohammad who says 30% of Malaysian men are gay and like all Muslim "murtad" they need to be rehabilitated.

There are probably more straight dudes involved in free sex than these minority lots.

How do you rehabilitate one's sexual orientation.Would there be a period of counselling and therapy where the gay men are supplied with women as sex partners to cure their biological disorder, or to make it less costly why not just castrate them, thus making Malaysia a gay free nation.

We would by then have 30% eunuch population. Those holier than thou politicians can then have the eunuchs to guard their harems.

Maybe, we should also research and implement a method of identifying homosexual in newly born babies and cull those found to be gay at birth.

Malaysia would definitely be free of gay people and the government would save a lot of money from building rehabilitation centres to house, feed and convert 30% of her gay population to becoming straight fuckers.

Malaysia is more in dire need of straight arrows than straight fuckers. We have become a nation of ignoramuses and bullshit artists.

The Web's Enemies

Web freedom faces greatest threat ever, warns Google's Sergey Brin

Exclusive: Threats range from governments trying to control citizens to the rise of Facebook and Apple-style 'walled gardens

Sergey Brin
Sergey Brin says he and Google co-founder Larry Page would not have been able to create their search giant if the internet was dominated by Facebook. Photograph: Justin Sullivan/Getty Images

The principles of openness and universal access that underpinned the creation of the internet three decades ago are under greater threat than ever, according to Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

In an interview with the Guardian, Brin warned there were "very powerful forces that have lined up against the open internet on all sides and around the world". "I am more worried than I have been in the past," he said. "It's scary."

The threat to the freedom of the internet comes, he claims, from a combination of governments increasingly trying to control access and communication by their citizens, the entertainment industry's attempts to crack down on piracy, and the rise of "restrictive" walled gardens such as Facebook and Apple, which tightly control what software can be released on their platforms.

The 38-year-old billionaire, whose family fled antisemitism in the Soviet Union, was widely regarded as having been the driving force behindGoogle's partial pullout from China in 2010 over concerns aboutcensorship and cyber-attacks. He said five years ago he did not believeChina or any country could effectively restrict the internet for long, but now says he has been proven wrong. "I thought there was no way to put the genie back in the bottle, but now it seems in certain areas the genie has been put back in the bottle," he said.

He said he was most concerned by the efforts of countries such as China, Saudi Arabia and Iran to censor and restrict use of the internet, but warned that the rise of Facebook and Apple, which have their own proprietary platforms and control access to their users, risked stifling innovation and balkanising the web.

"There's a lot to be lost," he said. "For example, all the information in apps – that data is not crawlable by web crawlers. You can't search it."

Brin's criticism of Facebook is likely to be controversial, with the social network approaching an estimated $100bn (£64bn) flotation. Google's upstart rival has seen explosive growth: it has signed up half of Americans with computer access and more than 800 million members worldwide.

Brin said he and co-founder Larry Page would not have been able to create Google if the internet was dominated by Facebook. "You have to play by their rules, which are really restrictive," he said. "The kind of environment that we developed Google in, the reason that we were able to develop a search engine, is the web was so open. Once you get too many rules, that will stifle innovation."

He criticised Facebook for not making it easy for users to switch their data to other services. "Facebook has been sucking down Gmail contacts for many years," he said.

Brin's comments come on the first day of a week-long Guardian investigation of the intensifying battle for control of the internet being fought across the globe between governments, companies, military strategists, activists and hackers.

From the attempts made by Hollywood to push through legislation allowing pirate websites to be shut down, to the British government's plans to monitor social media and web use, the ethos of openness championed by the pioneers of the internet and worldwide web is being challenged on a number of fronts.

In China, which now has more internet users than any other country, the government recently introduced new "real identity" rules in a bid to tame the boisterous microblogging scene. In Russia, there are powerful calls to rein in a blogosphere blamed for fomenting a wave of anti-Vladimir Putin protests. It has been reported that Iran is planning to introduce a sealed "national internet" from this summer.

Ricken Patel, co-founder of Avaaz, the 14 million-strong online activist network which has been providing communication equipment and training to Syrian activists, echoed Brin's warning: "We've seen a massive attack on the freedom of the web. Governments are realising the power of this medium to organise people and they are trying to clamp down across the world, not just in places like China and North Korea; we're seeing bills in the United States, in Italy, all across the world."

Writing in the Guardian on Monday, outspoken Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei says the Chinese government's attempts to control the internet will ultimately be doomed to failure. "In the long run," he says, "they must understand it's not possible for them to control the internet unless they shut it off – and they can't live with the consequences of that."

Amid mounting concern over the militarisation of the internet and claims – denied by Beijing – that China has mounted numerous cyber-attacks on US military and corporate targets, he said it would be hugely difficult for any government to defend its online "territory".

"If you compare the internet to the physical world, there really aren't any walls between countries," he said. "If Canada wanted to send tanks into the US there is nothing stopping them and it's the same on the internet. It's hopeless to try to control the internet."

He reserved his harshest words for the entertainment industry, which he said was "shooting itself in the foot, or maybe worse than in the foot" by lobbying for legislation to block sites offering pirate material.

He said the Sopa and Pipa bills championed by the film and music industries would have led to the US using the same technology and approach it criticised China and Iran for using. The entertainment industry failed to appreciate people would continue to download pirated content as long as it was easier to acquire and use than legitimately obtained material, he said.Read more.

If Pigs Had Wings Sarawak Report Is The Gospel

Hantu Laut

It's all so easy for Sarawak Report to get confidential information, not only from the MACC but also the highly respected ICAC of Hong Kong.

If pigs could fly than Sarawak Report is the Gospel. Sadly, for some, they believe it is the Gospel.

Maybe, the ICAC should clear the air whether it is their practice to release in-house confidential to the public of cases where no charges have been brought against those suspected to be involved in a crime.

How was it possible that confidential information and documents can leak from the MACC office, Are some MACC officers on the take by selling information, travestying the very embodiment of its creation, the fight against corruptions.

If it's true, it certainly a big embarrassment to this country and Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak that an organisation formed to fight corruption is well into the same vice themselves.

Sarawak Report proudly declared
here that the information they came into possession came from the MACC and of late from the highly respected ICAC.

Sarawak Report and Radio Free Sarawak, created and controlled by a foreigner, one Clare Rewcastle Brown, former BBC world service reporter and sister-in-law of former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown under the pretext of her concern for the forests and natives of Sarawak.

The creation and clear and ultimate objective of Sarawak Report was to topple Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud from power in the 2011 State Elections which they failed miserably.Taib still managed to retain two-thirds majority and proved wrong the doomsayers who predicted his imminent defeat.

Frustrated with their failure in Sarawak they are now turning to other states in Malaysia to do the opposition's bidding.

It's all quiet on the opposition's front on MACC divulgence as it did not involve any of its members, which, otherwise, would have them rattling the cage.

I am not sure about MACC but I don't think the highly respected ICAC would release such information for public consumption when no charges are forthcoming against the named person, let alone dispensing it to an anonymous political blog like Sarawak Report, founded and controlled by a frustrated Briton, one Clare Brown who has no business poking her nose into Malaysian politics, other than her desire of keeping the Penans of Sarawak as novelties of the forests and trinketry of tourism, where she and her Occidents can view them in their natural habitats.

Both MACC and Sarawak Report should be investigated.

What exactly has Facebook bought with its $1bn purchase of Instagram? Recent internet history suggests it may be a huge haul of overpriced pixels…

Grid of photos showing different filter effects enabled by Instagram.
A grid of photos showing different filter effects enabled by Instagram. Photograph: Picasa

So Facebook has bought Instagram, a company with a single product – a photosharing app – for $1bn in cash and (FB) shares. Just to put that in context, Instagram has been in existence for 18 months, employs 13 people, has 30 million users and has had a grand total of $7m in investment funding. Oh, and it has precisely zero dollars in revenue.

Sound familiar? YouTube was founded in February 2005 as an angel-funded enterprise. In November 2005 Sequoia Capital invested $3.5m, and in April 2006 Sequoia and Artis Capital Management put an additional $8m into the company, making $11.5m in all. Then, in October 2006, YouTube was purchased by Google for $1.65bn.

Or how about this? In 1996 a group of Israeli engineers founded Mirabilis, a company that developed the ICQ messaging technology.AOL bought Mirabilis in 1998 for $407m, which then was a lot of money. In 2010 AOL sold ICQ to Digital Sky Technologies for $187.5m.

Or this? Skype was founded in 2003 by Janus Friis and Niklas Zennström. It grew rapidly because it offered free VoIP (voice overinternet protocol) but was slow to earn revenues by selling "Skype-out" facilities, which enabled subscribers to make calls to conventional telephones. In October 2005 eBay purchased Skype for a sum variously estimated at between $2.6bn and $3.1bn. Two years later eBay took a $1.4bn impairment on the value of Skype, revaluing the company at $2.7bn. In May 2011 Microsoft acquired Skype for $8.5bn. At the time this was Microsoft's largest ever acquisition.

And then there's MySpace, also founded in 2003 and acquired byRupert Murdoch's News Corporation in July 2005 for $580m – a purchase lauded by some eminent commentators at the time as the wily Digger's latest masterstroke. Myspace was flogged off last June to an outfit called Specific Media for $35m. Some masterstroke!

What is the moral of these stories? Answer: that internet valuations are like the Bible's description of the peace of God: they "passeth all understanding". There's no rational way of valuing companies like these. That doesn't mean, of course, that armies of high-priced accountants, consultants and lawyers toting massive Excel sheets and market "research" didn't provide wodges of impressive documentation rationalising whatever number senior executives had plucked out of the ether. But, in general, there's no way of knowing in advance whether any of these purchases will turn out to be masterstrokes or follies.

At the moment it looks as though YouTube was the only really shrewd acquisition in the sense that one can at least envisage a way that it might eventually turn into a serious money-pump for Google. ICQ was a disastrous mistake for AOL, as was MySpace for Murdoch. And it's hard to see how Microsoft will ever get its money back from Skype.Read more.

Anak Melayu Diperbodokan

Hantu Laut

I must say under Najib this land has become heaven on earth for dissents of any kind.Malaysians are now more attune to go onto the streets to expressly exacerbate their grievances against the government.

There were Bersih 1 and Bersih 2. Bersih 3 is in the offing, if everything goes well, the senile National Laureate Pak Samad says he expects 500,000 Malaysians to throng Merdeka Square on 28 April demanding immediate reforms for free and fair elections.

I don't see the massive turnout happening if the government allow the protest to go on without police interference. If they want Merdeka Square, give it to them, if anything broke make sure the organisers pay for it, if there were massive littering which require costly cleaning up, make sure the organisers pay for it too.Don't expect other taxpayers to pay for these people to "shiok sendiri"

DO NOT SEND IN YOUR MASSIVE POLICE FORCE FOR CROWD CONTROL, JUST A TOKEN IN CASE OF TROUBLE AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT VISIBLE.

I doubt if they can get 50,000 mules, let alone 500,000.

Some 300 students, almost all Malays, demonstrated for the abolishment PTPTN carrying wreaths of Prime Minister Najib and the Minister of Higher Education Mohd Khaled Nordin after being brainwashed by the humbugging Anwar Ibrahim. These less than qualified Malay students were lucky the government still give them soft loans to further their tertiary education.

The video below shows they did not demonstrate against the PTPTN but exhibiting "kurang ajar" behaviour.Should you Malaysians sympathise with this kind rudeness. They are not interested in education. Obtrusively, they are stooges of Anwar and the oppositions. There was not a single word mentioned about PTPTN in the video. It's about their longing demise of Najib,Rosmah,BN and not forgetting to bring back the ghost of the poor dead lady Altantuya.

Though, they do not represent the majority of Malays students, it's bad that they strayed from the original motivation, education! The government should recall the loans given to those who participated in the demonstration.

Who says Malaysia is not free?
