Where Is Ansari Abdullah ?

Hantu Laut

PKR Tuaran division chief Ansari Abdullah who has been a loyal and dedicated party member for many years made a pre-emptive announcement of candidates of his choice earlier this month. His list was later rubbished by PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.

His action shows a clear depth of distrust against PKR central leadership. People who can't be trusted to keep their words.

Ansari's name have not appeared anywhere on the list of PKR candidates that have gone around the political sphere.

UPKO's turncoat Wilfred Bamburing is slated to contest the Tuaran parliamentary seat and Tamparuli state seat, leaving Ansari out in the cold.

Is Ansari being punished for his pre-empative announcement of his own candidate list?

If there is anyone who should contest the Tuaran seat, it should be Ansari.

Has Anwar ever been honourable with his promises ?

Anwar also promised Ibrahim Menudin to contest in Labuan and Douglas Lind in Tenom, both are ex-UMNO members who ditched the party a few months back to join PKR and are considered newcomers at the angst of long-serving party members. Both have started campaigning in the promised constituencies about two months ago based on assurances given by Anwar.

Ibrahim had distributed free rice to the kampong folks in Labuan in the hope of getting their supports. He has now been moved to Bongawan to face the hyenas.

Douglas, who was so sure of standing in Tenom, unfortunately, was not selected. Being newcomer the rejection may not be as painful as Ansari.

Sabah PKR is in a real shambles as long-serving and loyal party members are being sidelined for newcomers to contest the elections.

Can we trust a man who never kept his words to lead this country?

Updated: PKR has confirmed that Ibrahim Menudin will also contest the Labuan parliamentary seat.

More to come..

Rais:Why Ban Something Good ?

Hantu Laut

I do not agree with Rais Yatim's reasoning for taking off the airing of this video on TV.It is a good public message to bring awareness to Malaysians to discharge their rights to vote and it's free.

The video is also free, the government need not fork out any money for its production and, thankfully, they did not, otherwise, it would have cost a bomb.

Rais, should tell us Malaysians, which segment of our society would be offended by the video and what is the subliminal message?

The unspecified negativities he asserted of the video is lamentable because they are non existence.I can't find any subliminal message other than the presence of some opposition's superstar like Nurul Izzah. To be fair to the maker of the video he has also invited and included in the video BN ministers to sing the same message.

Is the government haunted by its own shadow?

Is it because of Namewee?

Frankly speaking, I do not agree with many of his antics, he is just a publicity maniac using politics as cheap publicity. We should not be bothered by his appearance in the video, we should look at the content and context of the whole video and its ultimate message.

Is it because of Tengku Razaleigh who says Malaysia has many problems?

Isn't it true we have many problems ? Which country don't have problem?

We have political problem, economic problem, corruptions problem, crime problem, widening racial divide problem, religious problem, FDI problem and last but not lease the Anwar Ibrahim's problem.

Instead of finding solutions to the many problems, why not sweep them under the carpet, in the typical fashion of UMNO leaders.

I hate to generalise or stereotype people, but ONE'S SUPPORT CAN WEAR THIN when the objects of your support keep shooting themselves in the foot. Many UMNO leaders are suffering from this malady.Even my hero, former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohammad, disappoints me when he contradicts himself by saying Malaya had never been colonised. There is nothing to be ashamed of being colonised, almost three-quarters of the globe was colonised by European powers.

When he was prime minister he said the Malay sultans sold their souls to the British now he says the sultans invited the British as advisers but the British acted as colonialists.I forgive him because of his age and fading memory but how do you forgive a learned man, a professor named Zainal Kling who sing the same song referring to some obscured document saying the sultans never signed any treaty agreeing to be colonised.

Ask the African countries,India,Indonesia, the West Indies, how many of them have signed documents to allow the European powers to subjugate them? Ask the Sultanate of Malacca did he sign any treaty before the Portuguese armada came with their gun blazing to take Malacca?

In some cases treaties were signed after subjugation either by force or intimidation. In the case of Malaya the British used subtle intimidation on the sultans to accede to their demands. It is called "gunboat diplomacy", a display of superior military power to intimidate.

Malaya was colonised that way and that's why we have "independence day" and our northern neighbour Thailand do not have any because they have never been colonised.Incidentally, Thailand was also never invaded by Japan in World War II.They became allies and signed a secret military alliance with Japan for safe passage to invade Malaya on condition the Japanese helped them to get back the 4 northern states in Malaya formerly under Thai rule.

It appears that some UMNO leaders are still living in past glory. Some of the excuses given are so pubescent, like a growing child's fantasy, ONE WOULD NOT KNOW, whether they are REAL, IMAGINED or just PURE BULLSHIT.

It about time they wake up to the real world.....and it's ABOUT TIME THE PRIME MINISTER LEARN HOW TO SACK THE BELLIGERENTS, THE INCORRIGIBLES AND THE INTELLECTUALLY CHALLENGED......or ALL OF HIS EFFORTS WOULD GO DOWN THE DRAIN, HE AND THE WHOLE UMNO BATTALION WITH IT.

ANWAR IBRAHIM:YOU ARE A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT !

Hantu Laut

Sometimes, intellectuality can go awry, incoherence and illogical. The law of improbability can end up as law of unintended consequences.

Anwar Ibrahim, a well-educated, intellectual and charismatic politician, adored by many young urban Malaysians for his oratorical skills and fiery delivery is beginning to drown in his own intelligence and unwittingly devour his own political future by self-inflicted injury.

I read with dismay and disappointment the promises he made on his campaign trail in Wangsa Maju, Bandar Tun Razak and Lembah Pantai.

The making of such audacious statements and impossible to implement promises is not reflective of an highly esteemed politician . The thin crowd from the Malay community is a telling sign of his declining popularity and skepticism that people have about his ability to mount a strong and united apposition, let alone form the next government.

I am sure many Malaysians would share my feeling of being insulted by such ludicrous promises. Some of the promises he made have actually done more harm than good. Those with enough intelligence would not be easily bought by such stupendous promises.

He said when he was finance minister for eight years he never raised the price of petrol. That's true, but what was the price of crude oil then ? The average price of crude for the 10-year period of the nineties was US$17.9 per barrel. Today the price of crude has reached US$102 per barrel, about six times more than when he was finance minister. What benchmark is he using to compare during his time and now ? Was it an intelligent comparison or just casting a lure to fish for votes, hoping gullible Malaysians would take the bait.

Another equally empty as an empty vessel was his promise of "I will abolish toll charges, fix minimum wages at RM1,500 and provide free education until university level," to the crowd at Wangsa Maju.

To implement all the promises he would need to use all the foreign reserves and also use Petronas as a cash cow.The country would be bankrupted before he finishes his term.

For an ex- finance minister to make such ridiculous promises it's obvious he has little respect for the intelligence of the people of this country. He was so besotted with the accolades he gets from the Western world on his academic achievements he has forgotten that Malaysians are not all that stupid either, to believe in his useless promises.

It is obvious that this empty vessel that makes the most noise is not likely to change the political landscape in this country. Lies and promises are not going to buy votes unless majority of Malaysians are thick in the head, which is what Anwar assumed us all to be. He is completely immersed in self-glorification and thinks Malaysia is one big bodohland.

With all the stupefyingly dull and empty promises he is making and at the rate he is going, PKR would have run out of support come this 8th March.
