Ambiga Sreenevasan  went to Australia to seek help from Australian parliamentarians and politicians to save this country from going to the dogs. My earlier posting on the same subject here.



Her febrile imagination of highly embellished unfair election practices and vote rigging by the government had taken her to Down Under hoping that the miserable snooping and intrusive Anwar's close friend Australian MP Nick Xenophon would help her secure Canberra's agreement to send elections watchdogs to Malaysia's next general elections . 

Your guess as good as mine who sent her ?

What did she gets ?

The Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr has given an answer in the Australian Parliament why Australia should not get involved in matters that are of doubtful nature. He went on on say that the Malaysian government lost its two-thirds majority in parliament in the March 2008 General Elections. However, he probably was not aware or forgot to also mention that the wicked government perceived by Ambiga also lost control of 5 state governments to the opposition and the opposition won 8 subsequent by-elections thereafter.

Anyone, NOT in a state of insanity, which I presumed Ambiga is not, would have asked her if the elections had been so badly rigged how come the long suffering Malaysian oppositions gained so much ground, almost a hair's breadth of toppling the ruling party in the 12th General Elections ?

Obviously, her mission failed.

Let me quote what Lee Kuan Yew said soon after the Singapore 1996 General Elections. He said "Please do not assume that you can change governments.Young people do not understand this" 

Pakatan Rakyat and its agent Ambiga is exploiting the naivety of young voters with their snake-oil concoction to mislead them into voting for Pakatan Rakyat with stories of illegal immigrants  being given citizenship and voting rights to keep the corrupt BN in power.

This scary tale from the quagmire would certainly scare the shit out of young unsuspecting Malaysians.

Maybe, she should try her luck in UK and the US, where Anwar has many sympathetic and dedicated friends and she, a freedom fighter of human rights, decorated by the US government, given "International Women of Courage Award" by Secretary of State Hilary Clinton in 2009.

One thing I can say, this lady has one very swollen head.

The actors in the controversial film on Islam and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) have distanced themselves from the deplorable film saying they were duped and the dialogue was  dubbed.

So, Muslims before you draw your swords and declare jihad on these people, they may be completely innocence and the real culprit, a former criminal and inmate, has gone into hiding.

The US government should slap a manslaugher charge against him for the death of the US Libyan Ambassador and 3 other American.

The man who identified himself as the filmmaker behind the anti-Islam film “The Innocence of Muslims” may have used a pseudonym and spent time in federal prison. Meanwhile several actors in the movie say they were duped, and are now distancing themselves from the film that was cited as a spark to the violence in Libya that resulted in the murder of the United States’ ambassador to that country.

Bar Council's Rat-A-Tat-Tat

There is no legalese (legal jargon) about the Bar Council pummeling the government. Plain and simple, dirty politics, it's taking side in the politics of this country.

Siding with the opposition Pakatan Rakyat to inflict maximum collateral damage on the government, Prime Minister Najib Razak and the ruling party.


Has the Bar Council ever disparaged or condemn PAS dared intention to implement hudud in the country or Anwar Ibrahim antipathetic participation in Bersih 3 and his suspected role in causing chaos and mayhem on the streets of Kuala Lumpur ?


Its former president is now actively involved in mob culture, organising street's protests, rally, march, sit-in and collusion with the oppositions to bring down a legally elected government.

Bar Council Tiptoeing Into Politics

The council may deny this and hee-haw its way to explain itself. Yet, if its members were to take a step back, see what they did from an arm’s length, maybe they would not be too surprised that some people could get uncomfortable with its partisanship, especially in the current heightened political environment.

IT has been a month since the Bersih 3.0  rally and it must be said that not many came out of the situation unscathed. The government, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, police, ministers, the media, Bersih organisers, politicians of all persuasions and ideologies and  participants share blame for one thing or another.

Joining the list, days later, would be the Bar Council, following its haste in calling an extraordinary general meeting that by and large, to a layman unfamiliar with the ifs and buts of legalese, was a condemnation of, among others, the government and the police for the chaos and violence that followed.

In these days of cyber activism, there are videos of all kinds, promoting this or that side, each exposing transgressions by “the other guy”. It was not a day all of us can be proud of.

Hence, I do not believe the government and the police deserved to be singled out by the Bar Council.

Clearly, no side is blameless,  yet the council seemed to abhor the idea of criticising the guys in yellow, portraying them as innocent weekend democracy advocates bullied by cops ordered to terrorise.

The Bersih 3.0 rally was an event waiting to be hijacked. I am sure the organisers, who are not naive, knew it. While many were out for their constitutional walk, a few of the many thousands who gathered came with the idea of promoting their politics and causes, if not mischief and mayhem.

Thus, I think, the council’s leaders should not be too surprised if some would describe the Bar as partisan in this issue. Its  EGM and resolution blaming the post-rally messiness on the government clearly indicated the position it had carved for itself in the national political landscape.

Having said so, there are several philosophical questions that need answering. Should the Bar Council be neutral, anyway? What is its role in civil society? Or should it not try to keep its house in order first, for instance, by ridding the profession of crooked lawyers and such?

Now, this being a democratic country, the council is free to support anyone, or adopt any position. I suppose it just needs to be clear about it.

Nevertheless, it is the expectation of many that when the council discussed the Bersih incident, it would look at it in totality.  I understand the greater agenda of democracy, but for a layman like me, it should at least be seen to be an honest broker in this issue.  Maybe we are being a little naive.

It admonished the government and the police, and demanded apologies for indiscriminate and excessive use of force. Yet, it only dealt in passing with the violence by some protesters. Read more.

Sometimes, it's difficult to separate the sheep from the goats.

Whether Ahmad Ismail is a bigot, defender of the faith or Pahlawan Melayu (Malay hero), the man is never short of controversies and strange as it may sound he somehow survives the dangerous waters of politics.People like him and Anwar Ibrahim seemed to have the nine lives.Even the cats would find it difficult to survive such deadly hurdles.

It wouldn't be lack of profundity to say that in every race, group or community there are bound to be the contemptuous black sheep.Ahmad's chauvinistic view is his and not the general perception of the Malay community.

In 2006 Ahmad was again in the limelight over his insolvency status that was widely reported in the media.

1.Umno's leadership will decide the fate of Datuk Ahmad Ismail, who was ordered to relinquish his post as a Penang island municipal councillor because he was bankrupt.
Penang Umno liaison committee secretary Datuk Azhar Ibrahim said it would leave it to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is the committee chairman, to decide.
He said the matter would be discussed when Abdullah returned from his overseas trip.
It was reported yesterday that Ahmad, who is also a director of a firm linked to the Penang Outer Ring Road, had to relinquish his councillor's position as he was a bankrupt.(New Straits Times 24 May 2006)

2.Umno Bukit Bendera division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail is adamant that he will not relinquish any of his posts.
Ahmad, who was declared a bankrupt, had been ordered to give up his Penang Island Municipal Council position and his Umno post.
He said he had obtained a stay of execution order from the High Court and lashed out at Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon for rushing to announce that he had been stripped of his councillor's post.
"I don't know why a small fry like me has been given such widespread publicity.
"I was declared a bankrupt because of a technicality and I have sorted it out.
"All this could have been avoided if the Chief Minister had checked his facts first," he said

3.Bukit Bendera Umno Chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail is not bankrupt and will continue back as a member of the Pulau Pinang Town Council (MPPP).
Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon today said that he had received a letter from the Insolvency Department confirming that Ahmad was not bankrupt.
Yesterday, Ahmad had described the actions of the state government and the MPPP in terminating him from his post of a member of MPPP as being hasty and unreasonable.(Bernama 26 May 2006)

4.)Bukit Bendera Umno Branch chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail will keep his job of councillor in the Penang Island Municipal Council (MPPP).
Ahmad cleared his name today when the Penang High Court nullified a lower court ruling declaring him a bankrupt.
A jubilant Ahmad said he has received a letter from the state government confirming that he will be retained as MPPP councillor.
He said he was a "victim of circumstances". He acted as a guarantor for a RM1.8-million loan taken by a private company which had defaulted on the repayment.
"I thank Allah that it's all over now. I have cleared my name and now I am looking forward to serving the people of Bukit Bendera (and the MPPP)," he said.(Bernama 27 June 2006)

5.Bukit Bendera Umno division head Datuk Ahmad Ismail claimed that Koh and Chia did not honour their election promises, which included introducing a programme to eradicate poverty and inculcating entrepreneurship among the Malays in the city.
Describing the Malays in Penang as the victimised minority, he asked Koh and Chia to fulfill the pledges they made and asked them to hold discussions with Umno leaders to work out the programme for the Malays.(Bernama 27 Aug 2006)

Time is a great healer. This nasty episode would soon be forgotten and Ahmad would quietly return to his political wheeling-dealing, UMNO unchanged and unrepentant and Anwar still chasing his elusive dream.

This will the closing chapter of Ahmad Ismail's political boo-boo and we should forgive him for the outburst that was probably done in a fit of anger.

Return Of Mr Bigot

The controversial Mr Bigot returned, unrepentant and defiant.

PKR MP Zulkifli Noordin has come out of hiding, still with heavy chips on his shoulder, insisted he was right in what he did at the Bar Council forum.

He said "For me Islam comes first. I am a Muslim first, a party member second. A Muslim first, a lawyer second. A Muslim first, an MP second.

"You attack Islam, I'll be there, even if I have to do it on my own.

Whatever it is, Islam comes first,"

With air of arrogance and a quirky show of grandstanding he said that sensitive matters should be discussed behind closed doors with the relevant agencies.

"When you talk of sensitivities of others, do so behind closed doors and only invite those in authority. Don't invite any Tom, Dick or Harry. You can talk about Islam but you cannot talk for Islam.

"I don't call any mamak chendol or kacang putih seller to talk about Hinduism, do I? That would only look stupid. I would call the priest, the authority and then I can get a better picture on Hinduism.

"Just because some mosquito group of Muslims start talking about Islam, they represent Islam. I don't think that is fair.

"We have authorities, Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim), Yayasan Dakwah Islam Malaysia, IKIM, UIA ... we have a lot of authorities. Why invite those mosquitoes?

"We have to respect each other's rights.We Muslims have been tolerant enough all this while, for so many years we have been asked, forced to live under the law that is not Islam. We have been forced," (Malaysian Insider)

He also accused the Bar Council of being 'anti-Islam' and would ask Parliament to sanction the Bar Council, whatever that mean.

Gosh! For so many years we have been forced to live under the law that is not Islam. Did somebody say this guy is a lawyer.I wonder which law school he came from. What have the Bar Council got to do with the nation adoption of secular law.To be precise it is people like him who is responsible for the legislation and abrogation of the laws.That's why he is called a lawmaker or member of parliament.

Even more absurd our bigoted MP failed to realise that it is the Muslims who are in control of this nation, not the non-Muslims or the Bar Council.If he is unhappy the right forum to thrash it out is in Parliament or thrash the PM why are we not under Islamic law.

A leopard will never change its spot and this leopard is using Islam in furtherance of his political career, a brand tag used by every PAS politicians.

Wrong party lah, YB?
