Hantu Laut

Forget ABOUT the rabble-rousers, the prophets of doom, the soothsayers, to wit the skewed web portals with their skewed stories.

After publishing the above, the news portal, if it qualify to be called one, found it fit, within less than an hour, published this crap.

If the crap is true how come Malaysia's 2012 second quarter economy recorded a higher growth rate of 5.4%, much driven by the unhappy Chinese economic engine.

DAP/Pakatan Feel Threatened Over Huge Turnout At PM Najib's Open House

Hantu Laut

DAP/Pakatan must have felt threatened with the huge turnout at the PM's Hari Raya open house. They see the huge attendance as an indication of what will happen at the polls.

A Thambi senator from DAP said the people shown in the photos are mirages invented by Bernama.

Extract from FMT:

He alleged that different pictures had been “juxtaposed and superimposed” to create the impression that a large crowd had gathered there.

The DAP leader also wondered why the image did not show Najib there, and queried why it portrayed the people there armed with cameras.

Is it a crime to carry cameras to the PM's house?

What a dumb question. Can your brain get any smaller.....than this man.

..........all for cheap publicity.

Is Mahathir Playing The Devil's Advocate ?

Hantu Laut

It amazes me to see some so-called writers, reporters, journalists and politicians in this country who have little understanding of "tongue-in-cheek" statements, sarcasms, metaphors, acerbic wits, or if you may, a "figure of speech" that they have taken the meaning literally, which the more initiated would not take at face value.

There was the PM wannabe daughter Nurul Izzah who literally translates Mahathir's metaphoric statement "better the devil you know" than ''the angel you don't" as Mahathir truly referring to Najib as the devil and his party a devil's empire. Now, everyone in the oppositions jumped on the bandwagon to deride Mahathir of his evil conjectures.

Here, an ex-UMNO man, in a new political vehicle, went on a rampage in his "Politik Parti Iblis Dan Syaitan" extrapolating his former party devilish past and foreseen future and expounding the legacy of Mahathir's evil empire. A sorehead with an axe to grind with Mahathir and Najib for whatever wrong they have done him when he was in UMNO.

What these people failed to see or too dim-witted to understand is that Mahathir is playing the "devil's advocate" to see what are the responses to his platitudes, dishes of sarcasm and "tongue in cheek"

Mahathir is a master of innuendoes.......his emphatic poem of "Melayu mudah lupa" had riled up some Melayus, who misunderstood the gist of the message.

Below is the message, literature or polemic, is left to one's interpretation.

Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya dipijak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya retak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya teriak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya haprak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya kelas dua
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya hina
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya sengketa
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya derita
Melayu mudah lupa

Dulu bangsanya kerdil
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya terpencil
Melayu mudah lupa
Tiada daulat
Tiada maruah
Tiada bebas
Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Sejarah bangsanya yang lena
Tanah lahirnya yang merekah berdarah
Ingatlah
Ingatlah
Ingatlah
Wahai bangsaku
Jangan mudah lupa lagi
Kerana perjuanganmu belum selesai

Another mishap here by an overzealous writer who run the gauntlet of literal moronic dispersal of Mahathir's thoughts.

Quote.... He mentions Mubarak, Hitler, Marcos, Ceausescu, Mussolini, Gaddaffi and Saddam Hussein – all dictators of ill repute, notorious and certainly of dubious prominence but may I humbly suggest to Tun Mahathir that maybe he might be aiming a tad too high when linking himself to these dictators...... Unquote

Hahaha! Is Mahathir that stupid to equate himself with such abominable names?

Guan Eng Is Cocky !

Hantu Laut

Is Lim Guan Eng cocky? Was Mansor Othman the first one to express his annoyance at this man?

It's obvious Mansor Othman must have been pressured by the supreme head of PKR to deny what he said and for him to now say "I don't think Guan Eng is cocky" His feebleness here. No! I only called him a "tokong" revered by the people of Penang.

Let me refresh....is Guan Eng cocky?

Ask the media that he banned from his press conference for what he perceives as pro-Barisan media and not giving him fair reporting. Is he so perfect to think that he is a consummated darling of the media.

If you are a politician be prepared to be rankled by the press. If you can't accept criticism, don't become politician, just be an ordinary "Ah Chong" and nobody cares a damn about what you do.

Ask Tungku Aziz for the impudent treatment he gets from this cocky new kid on the block, which Aziz described as escaping from the "tyranny of a demagogue" when he resigned from DAP. He publicly insulted this respectable elder for voicing his opinion against Bersih, a frivolity that wiser leaders would not be bothered with.

Ask the Johorians when they were steaming with anger when Guan Eng sickened Johor as a crime-infested state, unsafe for foreign investors and tourists as compared to Penang.

This tiny man form a tiny land has got so carried away he now think he is God's anointed leader of the Chinese, loved and revered by the community.

Yes, Guan Eng is cocky, without any doubt.

Itu Peribahasa English Lah, Bodoh!

Hantu Laut

Is she ignorant or she thinks it is Mahathir that is ignorant?

Read what Nurul Izzah says here about Mahathir's use of the English idiom "better the devil you know (than the devil you don't)" which means "it is wiser to deal with someone familiar, though you may not like them, than to deal with someone who you do not know, who might be worse."

"I'm disappointed that Mahathir called Najib a devil...he is not," she told a press conference today.

Hahaha! Of course Najib is a devil in the eyes of Pakatan leaders and supporters as much as I and many others see the devil in her father Anwar Ibrahim and other Pakatan leaders.

Is she a product of our local education system that only study English as a subject and go no further?

Dear Nurul Izzah! It's metaphoric.

Malaysia's Opposition Leader Stepping Down ?

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has warned Malaysia’s middle classes to support his bid for the top job in the next election or risk losing him altogether. Anwar, an astute and hardened politician, realizes that if he can’t defeat the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition this time around then it will be time to pass the baton.
“If we don’t get the mandate, then we should give space for the second-liners in leadership,” he said during an online forum broadcast on YouTube.
Anwar served as United Malays National Organization (UMNO) – the lead party in the current governing coalition – deputy prime minister until 1998 when he had a falling out with the then prime minister Mahathir Mohamad and was imprisoned for corruption and sodomy. He was released from jail in 2004, however, after the sodomy conviction was overturned and quickly returned to Parliament.
Despite retiring in 2003 after 22 years-in-power, Mahathir has remained Anwar’s nemesis. This rivalry is partly fueled by Mahathir’s son, Murhkriz, entering politics as a Member of Parliament. Mahathir is widely believed to be steering his son towards the prime minister’s job.
Anwar was again acquitted of sodomy charges in January amid claims that UMNO’s old guard, who have ruled the country since independence in 1957, were using the legal system to carry out a campaign to smear and silence the country’s loudest and most popular opposition voice. Sodomy is illegal in the country and if convicted Anwar could have faced up to 20 years in prison.
After being acquitted on that charge, Anwar was again arrested in May for taking part in an illegal rally that was attended by tens of thousands of people who demanded electoral reforms. Read more.

A State Of Chaos - Pakatan's Maladroit Politicians

Hantu Laut

When can they put their act together, or can they?

Anwar not making sense’

How can these defecting leaders who are the very reason Sabah politics is in its current state be Pakatan’s solution to wresting Putrajaya in the 13th general election?

“It makes no sense… how can the problem [of defectors] be the solution for Sabah ” was the immediate response of a political analyst in reaction to Anwar Ibrahim’s live chat on “Borak Bersama Anwar” [Chat with Anwar ] on Google Hangout on Friday night.Read more.

Karpal: Pakatan will ban party hopping

If Pakatan Rakyat were to capture Putrajaya, the DAP would propose to remove the constitutional barrier that bans a resigning parliamentarian or assemblyman from re-contesting for five years.

In its place, said DAP supremo Karpal Singh the party would propose a constitutional amendment to deter party hopping by federal and state lawmakers.

He said the current constitutional barrier was being used by defecting elected representatives to justify their refusal to relinquish their seat when they defect.Read more.

Lim Kit Siang's May 13 Expos'e: Truth or Chicanery ?

Hantu Laut

The 1969 General Election was held on 10th May in West Malaysia, but in Sabah and Sarawak the parliamentary elections was postponed to between 17 and 21 June.

Gerakan and DAP, the two opposition parties intense political campaign was against Article 153 of the Constitution, which outlined special privilages for bumiputras.

The Alliance Party lost Penang to Gerakan and Perak to DAP and Selangor hunged in the balance, which the Alliance eventually gained by one seat in collobration with an independent candidate. UMNO's arch-rival PAS took Kelantan.

What Kit Siang said may be true, but the question is, has he any prior knowledge of the impending trouble?

Gerakan and DAP held a victory march in KL on 12 May, which turned rowdy, with party members shouting racial slurs at Malay bystanders. They diverted from their approved route and changed it to pass through Kampong Baru, a Malay dominated area in KL with the attention of throwing epithets at the Malay bystanders. UMNO countered with its own rally on 13 May, which broke out into full-scale rioting.

Which side fired the first salvo is still very fuzzy.

Kit Siang affirmed he was not in KL on the fateful day. Watch the videos.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

TO ALL MY MUSLIM READERS AND FRIENDS WHEREVER YOU MAY BE.

Anwar's Google Hangout - Dismal !

Hantu Laut

Google Hangout with Anwar Ibrahim was a big disappointment. He talked a lot but eluded answering most of the questions he deemed politically delicate.

All he did was "hantam" (attack) UMNO. In fact, the whole "borak" was geared to attack UMNO.

A question by one netizen on whether Pakatan Rakyat is going to downsize the civil service was never answered, instead, he eluded and went on a fault finding mission of the BN government.

The panelists lacked forcefulness.

Watch the video carefully and make your own conclusion.

Article 114 A :A Storm In A Teacup

Hantu Laut

I agree the amendment of article 114A was hurriedly done and without giving much thoughts to its side effects.

However,  Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak has agreed for his cabinet to review the controversial law and hopefully appropriate amendment will be made to replace it.

It is only a matter of interpretation. The lawyers in this country are used to the "you are innocent until proven guilty", which in my personal opinion is a misplaced notion. You are always deemed guilty until you proved yourself innocent.

If you are deemed innocent at the time of your arrest, say in a murder case, why do they keep you in prison and bail not allowed. It can only mean they have presumptuously declared you guilty of the crime, otherwise, why the detention before the verdict?

It is still up to you to prove your innocent. If you are truly innocent and you can't prove it, too bad, you may have to go to the gallows or in countries where there is no capital punishment you are condemned to life behind bars.

Miscarriage of justice have sent many innocent men to the gallows. That's why I am against capital punishment. It is an archaic law that have no place in today's civil society and is cruel and irreversible.A verdict sending an innocent man to death is as cruel as murder itself.

Coming back to Article 114A, the legal experts say it is a reversal of "innocent until proven guilty" which they say has become "guilty until proven innocent" unfair to those who are innocent. As I have said in a murder case, it's the same, your are considered guilty the day they charged you.

Under the law Internet users are automatically presumed guilty for any content posted through their registered networks, handheld devices, blogs and web portals.

Saying that providers of free Internet Wi-Fi for public use can be made responsible for any seditious, defamatory, or libelous article online does not hold water. Wi-Fi providers can ask clients to register before allowing them to log in to the service. Most computers have IP address and are traceable if the police do a good police work.

The most dangerous and more difficult to trace are hackers hacking into your website and posting such defamatory article on yours and other websites using your anonymous identity. The endeavour to prove your innocent can be financially draining and the trauma may be too much for those who do not have the will and money to fight back to prove their innocent.

Remember, when cellular phones was first introduced to this country. When it was expensive, there was no problem because only the higher strata of society can afford to buy them. When it starts to become very cheap to own one and every riffraff in town can buy them, all hell broke lose.......it  became an instrument with destructive power,  which can be used to send nasty and threatening messages to people you don't like and nasty politicians knowing its 'cloak and dagger' potentials used it to spread lies,  slandering their political opponents.

In the early days of the cellphone there was no need to register your name if you buy a prepaid SIM card and no one can trace who sent those nasty messages. Now, you have to  register to buy a SIM card. The rest is history.

Initially, there were some protests from some morons but majority of the people agree it was the right thing to do.

Now, there are less evils spawning out of the cellphone.

Article 114A is a necessary evil, all it needs is some fine tuning.

PKR "turunkan harga kereta" A False Promise

Hantu Laut

From the sublime to the ridiculous. PKR's "turunkan harga kereta" campaign is a hyperbole.

PKR promise, here, of cheaper cars for Malaysians is a desperate attempt to fish for votes. The proposal is ridiculous, impractical and will have serious repercussions if not implemented gradually. This is just another empty promise that they knew could not be implemented due to economic repercussion.

We don't need more cars on our already congested roads. Reducing the price of cars drastically will have serious repercussion on the second-hand car market which may have to close down their businesses as no one would want to buy second-hand car if price of new car is cheaper.

Though, I agree the prices of cars in this country are much higher than many other countries, including developed countries, it makes more sense to first liberalise the importation of cars by gradually reducing the current AP and to finally abolish the practice completely. Anyone, including individuals who can afford to buy directly, be allowed to import their own car by applying for a simple permit from the government at a reasonable fee.

The government can charge fee based on cubic capacity of the engine. The bigger the engine the higher the fee. The reduction in import duties should be gradual and must be done over extended period.

The present system of issuing APs to selected companies do not benefit the government as there are no revenue collected by the government. The AP have made selected Malays/bumiputras very rich and lazy. Most of the businesses end up in Chinaman's hand who make even more money.

Most cars imported under APs are refurbished second-hand cars and under declared by importers to reduce payment of import duty. Here again, the government lost substantial amount of revenue.

I was made to understand some AP are sold as much as RM30,000.00 each. The lucky bumiputra needs only 100 APs and he can collect a cool RM3.0 million for doing fuck all. If Pakatan is serious about stamping out corruptions this is one of the many things they should abolish.

They should not be any love lost with Proton or false belief of national car and national pride. If it can't make money, sell it off, or close it down.Malaysians should not be made to pay to support this losing industry.

The British have lost most, if not all, of its pioneering car industry, closed down or sold off to foreign interests. British Leyland, the biggest car manufacturer decades ago has ceased to exist.

The old Malay adage "biar mati anak jangan mati adat" is not relevant in a business world. Both Proton and MAS should be considered for closure or divest to other interested party.

Of highest priority, is not price reduction of new cars, but improving the public transportation in the country.Malaysia has one of the worst public transportation system in urban and semi-urban areas. This anomaly has been neglected for decades. While our neighbours have commissioned mass transit for many years now, Malaysia is still lumbering over a system for its capital city. The project has also been met by oppositions from landowners instigated by opposition parties.

In Singapore, no private landowners dare to protest against any project of public interest or public purposes and the government has a tough land acquisition law to deal with such opposition. There was no political sabotage of its MRT project as what we see happening in Kuala Lumpur.

Taxis in Malaysia are one of the worst in the world. Try catch a cab during peak hours in Kuala Lumpur, if that is not bad enough, dealing with ill-mannered driver would make your blood reach boiling point. Taxis in major towns in Malaysia are old junks, uncomfortable, badly maintained and dangerous.

Just last week the government announced the increase in maximum age of taxis from 15 to 18 years, that it says would make many taxi drivers happy. What about safety of passengers, are this no concern of the government? The government also give away free tyres to qualified taxis.

All these ad hoc handouts are pre-elections goodies that serve the public no benefit at all.

If the government is serious about improving public transport and bring down the cost of taxi fares that would bring a win-win situation for both taxi drivers and the travelling public, it must first make acquisition of vehicle for use as taxi as cheap as possible.

Remove all duties on this type of vehicle and restrict its use. The car can only be sold as a taxi and must be scrapped after 15 years. Subsidy on fuel and tyres should also be considered.

When fares are cheap more people will use taxis and for the taxi driver, it's economies of scale, the bigger the volume the more he makes.

Taking cheap public transport is a better choice than buying a car. The lower and middle income group will have more money in their pockets to spend on other necessities.

The Rentier Leeches

Hantu Laut

Last night my wife told me how someone at a "buka puasa" she was invited to rambling away about corruptions in Malaysia, how corrupt the BN government is, how bad the government is and how Sabah was shortchanged by the Federal government.

The usual ranting of those who rely on herd instinct instead of their own evaluations.

There are those who have from day one rode the gravy train and made tens/hundreds of millions as rentier leeches yet vehemently complained how bad their once good government was when they are no more getting what they want.

These bunch of people think they have God given rights to plunder the nation until their last breath.

As the incumbent host appeared weaker the political leech will look for new host to continue sucking blood to nurse back its already weakening body.

Yes! We all agree there is much corruptions in Malaysia, that much is true, but Malaysia is not alone. There are corruptions everywhere, not that we should condone it, but that's the reality. As long as there are strong economic activities corruptions will be there.

There are massive corruptions in China,  US and other countries that have gone undetected because of clever cover-ups.

Power attract the corruptible, the corruptible attracted to power.

If you think for one moment Pakatan Rakyat government is going to clean up corruptions, you need an IQ test.

See who is collecting all the throwaways!

The man much defended by America and the West and one who portrays himself as honest to goodness politician. An anti-corruption messiah.A man full of contradictions offering candies  to the very people he despised, the venal politicians of BN.

If you think America is squeaky clean, read on.

Comment:

Raytheon should fix this for free. There is NO EXCUSE for this failure. I could built a perimeter system for less than a million that at least would have worked. How do these fools think $100 Million for a perimeter security system is justified? There is now way to defend this waste of money. The military base in Yuma, AZ that monitors almost 100 miles of border costs less than $4 million, and has thermal tracking ability with software to automate the treat identification. How could they spend $100 million and still not even have a working system? There had to have been lots of graft in this deal. This system is controlled by the union run port authority, and I would bet that several million went straight into someones pocket at the port authority. They are one of the most corrupt unions on the planet.
Why doesn't Homeland Security run this stuff? Not that Napalitano could do any better, but isn't airport security one of their primary responsibilities? It sounds like this deal needs to be audited at least. Can someone in Congress get to the bottom of this Raytheon robbery please! As a defense contractor they should be shut down until this is cleared up at least. If they can't build a basic security system at a reasonable price then everything they do is suspect.

Priceless Rush on Timber

Treasure hunters have a romantic reputation. The popular perception is of Spanish doubloons, Ming Dynasty china or stolen gold bullion hidden beneath the sands of a tropical island or deep beneath the ocean. Luke Hunt reports.
However, buccaneers are increasingly hunting for a treasure with a modern day difference – timber. If the economics are right, the returns can be great.
More recently this has been evident on the Thai-Cambodian borders where poachers scouring the jungles for rosewood have lost their lives to landmines and the occasional border patrol on the lookout for people trying to make an illegal crossing.
Rain forest timber has always fetched a mighty price but amid their depletion those prices are heading even higher and this is being felt across the region, particularly on the island of Borneo which is shared between Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei.
“Someone came up with the idea and it caught on,” said 49-year-old Yapp Ma Fong who casts his eye over a shimmering sea that might contain his fortune. He says luck and speed were key in the economics of his business.
“It really does depend on how fast the logs can be raised from the ocean floor and taken to the saw mill where they are cut and sorted,” he said.
Over the decades thousands of logs slipped out of reach before they could be loaded for export on ships bound for Japanese, European and American markets. Retrieving those logs from river beds and the ocean floor is big business, not unlike the recycling industry in scrap metal, plastics or glass.
The most popular timbers are tropical hardwoods and softwoods favored for a variety of applications.
Perupok is sought by piano makers to make the hammers that strike the piano strings.
Damar minyak was prized for bar tops and ramin for wood paneling in corporate offices. The Japanese organized crime ring, the Yakuza, were ardent admirers of both timbers and their orders required special shipments when cutting of rainforests boomed in the 1980s and 90s.
It was during this period that heavy machinery capable of extracting the world’s largest trees came onto the market and for the first time previously untouched rainforests were felled. The North Borneo Timber Company alone was harvesting 1.2 million cubic metres, about 300,000 logs a year, in the mid-1980s.
Ross Ibbotson, retired forest manager and historian has just completed researching the history of logging in North Borneo for a book.
He said: “If you lost seven or eight logs a load then that would be a lot, you’d hear a scream of rage from the ship’s captain when a log became entangled with the anchor and he couldn’t get rid of it.”
Politicians cowered to the demands of timber companies and reduced the rotation periods between harvests from the rain forests. Under the British a relative small number of trees were earmarked to be taken per acre every 100 years. This was reduced to 40 years in the early post-colonial governments, then rain forests were simply stripped and replaced by rubber and palm oil plantations.
Places like Sandakan, Lahad Datu, Semporna and Tawau were synonymous with logging and were part of a much wider effort to bilk the environment. Neighboring Sarawak, Indonesian Borneo and islands in the Southern Philippines ensured millions of logs were harvested, a month.
By the mid-1980s the Malaysian state of Sabah was producing more than 12 million cubic metres of timber a year. Now that figure has been reduced sharply to a still sizeable three to four million cubic metres but much of this is secondary forest timber and only used locally, not for export.
This has led to a sharp increase in prices on the international markets for rare timbers.
Lumber varies in price according to species and type. Broadly, logs are valued at between US$1,000 and US$3,000 each, about seven times more than two decades ago and as Ibbotson says, timber prices – like most commodities — are enjoying their highest levels yet.Read more.

BN May Lose or A Hung Parliament If Sabah And Sarawak Don't Deliver.

Hantu Laut

Najib may lose the government in the 13th GE if Sabah and Sarawak failed to deliver the states to BN . Najib's dream of retaining the two "fixed deposit" states would go up in flame if he can't stop his lawmakers jumping ship.

Not all lawmakers that have jumped and those contemplating leaving are popular with the people but the psychological war would do enough damage to BN supports in the two states.

Adding to the already tense situation is former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad unwelcome comments on various issues that do more harm than good to Najib and the BN.Maybe, it's time for Mahathir to disappear into the shadow or keep his opinion to himself and let Najib decides what he wants to do.

Mahathir seems to be picking up tempo again and is on a collision course with Najib, reminiscence of what he did to Pak Lah before the 2008 General Elections. He may have been partly responsible for BN poor performance then.

Mahathir 's statement on the issue of illegal immigrants in Sabah has ruffled feathers, particularly  KDM leaders, both within and outside the BN.

The illegal immigrants issue is a political tool often used by KDM leaders to garner support from the KDM community and Mahathir opening a can of worms won't make happier days.

The bigger problem is in Peninsula Malaysia where the BN is facing an uphill battle to regain its credibility among the non-bumiputra communities with the most vociferous opposition coming from the Chinese community. The urban Malays are equally disenchanted with the government whom they see nothing more than a band of thieves. This perception, shared by many Malaysians is a death knell for BN. Najib's propaganda machine failed to counter the perception.

UMNO leaders are so inebriated with power, they are caught in a time warp that they could not escape from. The more than half a century running the nation have made them complacent, inertial, bankrupt of new ideas and politically out of sync with the people. They have become incapacitated, drifting in uncharted waters and have no idea how to deal with the oppositions. The opposition's war of attrition is gaining ground with the voters.

Their refusal to embrace the Internet in a big way shows the archaic mentality of party leaders. There is no influential pro-BN portal such as pro-Pakatan web portals the likes of Malaysiakini, Malaysian Insider and Malaysia Today. Free Malaysia Today, the new "enfant terrible" has also seen marked increase in its readership the past year. Besides the news portal, there are hundreds of pro-opposition blogs voluntarily helping the opposition in its war of attrition.

Many pro-BN blogs fall by the wayside because they, like UMNO politicians, will only work if they get paid handsomely.

Arrogance and 'bodoh sombong' abound in UMNO. They have a Home Minister who is out of touch with the world, a misaligned Deputy Prime Minister who is politically divergence from the Prime Minister and a misinformed Minister of Information who planned to turn a National Day celebration personifying the ruling party more than the nation and the people.

Some of Malaysia's billionaires and millionaires may already be covertly financing Anwar and the opposition as insurances in case Pakatan Rakyat come to power,  they will not be left out.

The same happened in Sabah in 1985 when Pairin's barely 47 days old PBS took on Berjaya, some Chinese towkays gave money to both sides, to protect their business interests. PBS won with a single seat majority.

If Sabah and Sarawak failed to deliver at least two-thirds each of their MP seats, Najib can kiss good-bye the government, or if any consolation for Najib, Malaysia may end up with a 'hung parliament'

Self-Serving Cowards: Aptitude Of Sabah Politicians

Hantu Laut

Not that I agree with former PM Mahathir's take on the thorny issue of illegal immigrants in Sabah but it has become a laughable KDM politician's bogeyman every time elections is round the corner. A KDM pudding to win brownie point with KDM voters.

When the frogs were in power and busying themselves stripping state assets and looting the state resources there was no illegal immigrants problem then. Everything was hunky-dory.

Here, Mr Toad Bamburing called Mahathir a 'traitor' and forgets he is a village 'frog' equally to be blamed for Sabah woes. Why did he not called Mahathir a traitor when he was in the government?

Don't blame Mahathir, it is you Sabah politicians who have no balls to stand up against him when he was in power. What Sabah is today is the consequence of your cowardice and selfishness.

"The world is full of cravens who pretended to be heroes" George R.R.Martin in his "A Game Of Thrones"

If you haven't read the book watch the HBO tv series.

Self-serving cowards, the apt description of most Sabah politicians.

The BITCH !

Hantu Laut

Many of us men would shrivel at the idea of calling our wives, mothers or sisters "BITCH", but not this Greek Medusa who is very proud and think highly of her father's philandering ways and for calling her mother and other women "BITCH".

Obviously, a term of endearment in her household.

She wrote:

"Amateur philanderers like Bill Clinton, Elliot Spitzer, Tiger Woods, and Jesse James have reduced themselves, their wives, and their lovers to widespread ridicule. These men might take lessons from my father, who has been obliging eager women since he was old enough to walk, by being unapologetic and open about their fondness for the fairer sex. You can’t blame a man for cheating when he’s never been anything but forthcoming about his manhood".Read more here.

Read more of her racist magazine here and her calling the kettle black, thrashing Paris Hilton here

Taki (his surname is a mouthful), her father, a serial philanderer, whose webzine carry his namesake, is a bottled racist and anti-Semitic, been accused by the Guardian of using ethnic slurs, investigated by Scotland Yard for his racial comment but no charges was brought against him. He spent 3 months in a British jail for possession of cocaine. This racist fascist named his dog after another famous fascist, Benito.....?,  if you are student of history you would know his full name.

(Taki, the playboy with another media goddess 'Greek Pudding' Arianna Huffington (Stassinopoulos) of the famous Huffington Post)

I had the misfortune of crossing path with Mandolyna Theodoracopulos in cyberspace in December 2010 when she threatened to take legal action against me for posting on my blog from her magazine an article on Julian Assange, which I actually linked back to her website, but didn't realised the link was broken.

Upon receiving her threatening mail I immediately removed the article and tendered my apology. I would have done the same if she had asked me politely.

Would you call your wife a bitch?

Judgement Not For The Laymen

Hantu Laut

Before I proceed further let's visit one very angry Malaysian here. His fury, a judgment pronounced by, no less, the President of the Court of Appeal on a rape case that have sent ripples across the nation.

Many of you, particularly, those in management or stakeholders in businesses, must have read the book "Peter Principle" by Dr Laurence Peters and Raymond Hull.

I read the book in the early seventies when I was still a young man just starting out in the business world. I had, in my later years, the opportunity to witness "Peter Principle" inherent in my own organisation. People getting promoted to their level of incompetence.

Out of their ubiquitous observation they have come to a conclusion that in almost every organisation "employees tend to rise to their level of incompetence"

How the judiciary promotes its judges and what criteria used I have no idea.

I will not question the judgement as there may be other factors and circumstances that we are not privy to.

However, the comment by the judge or ground for judgement is discomfiting to the layman.

Should a famous person be reprieved from punishment under the law? Was his age and his whole future the ground for such leniency?

Malaysia have had many statutory rape cases and many of those charged had been given long imprisonment.

Recently, squeaky clean Singapore had a child prostitution scandal that rocked the nation and shaken its political and economic elite. Paid sexual favours from a child prostitute by businessmen, bankers, civil servants and uniformed officers.

Among those charged was prominent Singapore socialite Howard Shaw, the grandson of Runme Shaw who was 41 and had 2 daughters from his previous marriage when the crime was committed, the girl was under 18. Actually she was 5 months short of her legal age.

It would be considerable feat to tell the difference between 17 years 7 months old and an 18-year old.

Howard Shaw was given 3 months sentence but is out on bail pending appeal. Story here.

The Singapore case may not be exactly the same as the Noor Afizal's case. He committed the crime when he was 18 and the girl 13. Malaysia's age of consent for sex is 16.

Has the judge erred in his judgement ?

Well, if I am not wrong the prosecution can still appeal to the Federal Court.

Read here one very angry woman, always angry with the government and the judiciary.
